Might be a long shot, but here we go!

For the past few years, I have been feeling down because I recently just moved back to my hometown, Malang.
I used to study in Melbourne for my master’s degree, but because of certain circumstances, I had to move back to my hometown. I still talk to my old friends from time to time but that’s about it. They all have their own life. Well, especially after I moved to Melbourne, we didn’t really talk. So we’re not that close anymore.
I was wondering if there are some other introverts who would like to hang out with me. Bonus point if you have also been experiencing the same thing, which is feeling out of place due to this reverse culture shock. Even the first year I moved back to Indonesia, I think I felt slightly depressed. Everything was difficult and I’m trying to pick up my life again and hopefully I can find some new friends that I can relate to and that I feel comfortable hanging out with.

I want the whole process to be respectful and as halal as possible. I will only respond to those who send me their bio.

Location and Willingness to Relocate: Currently in Indonesia, would prefer to stay in Indonesia or Malaysia, or even to go back to Australia.

Ethnicity and Openness to Mixing: Indonesian, open to mixing

Marital Status: Single, never married

Ideal Marriage Timeline: Preferably within one year, or even sooner Insha’Allah, if compatibility, shared values, and emotional readiness align.

Five Important Characteristics I Look for in a Prospect:

* Deen: Someone who’s always striving to be a better Muslim, doing the essentials (praying 5 times daily, fasting, giving zakah, etc). Bonus points if you also pray sunnah and regularly read the Qur’an (I try to do that too).

* Akhlaq: Kind, respectful, emotionally grounded, patient, and treats others well. Someone whose good character is visible in their everyday actions.

* Intelligence: Curious and always eager to learn, both intellectually and emotionally. Someone who is inquisitive and preferably one who reads. Someone who is also well-composed. 

* Health-Oriented: Cares about physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Makes an effort to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Someone who does not smoke, nor vape.

* Communicative: Knows how to carry deep, meaningful conversations. A thoughtful and engaging communicator. Remain gentle and calm even when angry. I like it when someone doesn’t make me feel like I have to be the one carrying the conversation. Someone who knows the art of inquiry in a conversation.  

Level of Religiosity:

Practicing Muslimah, striving to embody Islamic values in daily life. I prioritize sincerity in faith over perfection. I pray five times a day, sometimes pray sunnah as well, and try to read the Qur’an daily. A hijabi. These days, I try my best to learn more and more about Islam. 

Education and What I’m Looking For:

Master’s degree (I lived in Melbourne for 2 years for that). Ideally seeking someone with at least a bachelor’s degree or at least an equally curious and growth-oriented mindset.

Hobbies and Interests:

I like walking and sometimes I go for occasional hiking. I’ve tried walking my cat, but he usually ends up walking me. I like nature exploring and travelling as well, though these days I don’t do much of it because of time constraints. I really hope to explore the beauty of Allah’s creation with my future husband. Apart from that, I like journaling too as it helps untangle my thoughts. I like listening to podcasts too, mostly to learn more about Islam. But I also listen to podcasts on psychology, history, etc. 

Something About Me:

I’m someone who finds deep joy in wildlife and nature, loves animals, and wants to have one pet (or more!) even when married. I’m looking for a true friend for life, someone who sees marriage as a commitment of love, mercy, and perseverance, both in this world and the next. I value someone who chooses to stay, especially through life’s storms. As a firstborn, I really value those who are action oriented.
