How long does it take for CA ID to arrive??

I went to the DMV on Wednesday (7/1) to replace my ID. Do you think it will come in before July 20th? I’m going on a cruise and need to have it. And no, i don’t have any other forms of identification so I’m heavily relying on it to arrive before then.

Should i join the navy as a single mom??

I’m 27 years old single mom of two kids (ages 4 and 6), and I’m looking for some advice from people who have been in similar situations, especially those in the military. I recently graduated from university with a degree in Communications. I've been struggling to find a job the market is rough right now. If i were to pursue the Navy, I’d go the enlisted route. I know I have a degree and could maybe become an officer, but honestly, I don’t feel confident enough with my GPA and all I’ve heard it’s competitive. My biggest concern is my kids. I lost my mom, and my dad isn’t really involved in my life. Thankfully, my tia and uncle have been supportive and are more than willing to care for my children while I go through training and A school but i know deep down they don’t want me to go. I know my kids would be loved and cared for, but I’m struggling with an overwhelming sense of guilt about leaving them behind for such a long period of time. Part of me feels selfish for even considering it, but another part of me feels like I’m trying to create a better future for all of us. The benefits, stability, and opportunities are a huge factor, especially since I haven’t been able to gain traction in my career field. I know there are stateside duty stations and opportunities to have my children with me eventually, but I also understand that nothing is guaranteed in the military. For those who joined as single parents or had to leave young children with family members for training and deployments, how did you cope with the guilt? Do you feel it was worth it in the long run? Is there anything you wish you had known before making the decision?
