Hi everyone! We are a bunch of students going to Europe for the first time on Student Exchange.

We really wanna experience Oktoberfest but the stays in Munich are very expensive. Does anyone have any tips?

1. If staying outside Munich, which city would you personally recommend and why? We were thinking Regensburg, Freising, or Augsburg - but not sure of it.

2. For those who stayed outside Munich, where did you stay and how was getting back after Oktoberfest at night?

3. Are Airbnbs a good option or should we stick to hotels?

4. Should we buy tickets/table reservations in the tents or opt for free entry?

5. Are there any language barrier issues we might face, or any cultural differences to keep an eye out for?

Any other general tips for budget travel across Europe will also be very helpful.
