I will come to mainz for a double degree program from a Non EU country (Eastern Europe) and now i need some help regarding the health insurance in germany.

I read the wiki but I am confused. Can someone tell me the steps towards the private health insurance and also what is the best situation? (i want to pay the lowest/cheapest insurance
