Don't fix what isn't broke!!

Hi everyone! This is my first post so please bare with me:)

24 F used to have a good skin barrier before I damaged it by changing up routine and adding actives for no reason:/. Routine: AM rinse face with water in shower. Toner: Laneige Cream Skin, Moisturizer: Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream. SPF: Differn Oil Absorbing moisturizer with SPF 30. Nighttime routine: Micellar Cleansing water if wearing makeup. Cleanser: Tatcha Rice Wash Toner: Laneige Cream Skin. Moisturizer: Cerave Moisturizing cream in tub. Retinol (3 times a week): Differn Adapalene gel. Moisturizer ontop of Retinol (3 times a week): Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream. I would wash my face in the morning with the tatcha rice wash if it was a Retinol and Double Moisturizer night before. This routine was perfect, I rarely had issues.. I then decided to start washing my face with La Roche-posay Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser (that I bought for my fiancé) instead of my tatcha rice wash. That is where I messed up.. shortly later my skin was super tight and oily and I started getting a bunch of acne literally overnight. I went even harder with the Effaclar bought some more actives and just damaged my barrier even more. I have put all my active skincare away and am currently using Vanicream gentle cleanser in the morning and night, Vanicream daily facial moisturizer morning and night and the Laneige Cream Skin toner at night. Differn Oil absorbing moisturizer with SPF 30 in the morning as well.

Timeline of photos: Before damaged skin barrier photo 1: March 9th. Photo 2: before March 9th just showing clear forehead. After damaged skin barrier photos 3/4: April 9th. Photos 5/6: April 27. Getting rid of actives and using gentle routine: last two photos taken today.

If you read all of this, I appreciate it lol. Any tips or advice is welcome. I know my skin isnt awful but it felt a lot worse than it looks. As someone with dry skin in general a damaged skin barrier is super painful. Im excited to see how my skin changes with this gentle routine and will probably make another post to get help with adding actives back in when my barrier is healed lol.

Beginner friendly tutorials and tips for proper nail care?

Hi! I just recently started letting my natural nails grow out of the past month. I have had acrylics like 3 times in my life and never do nail polish because I pick it off. I used to bite my nails all the time to "cut" them but have recently stopped because I like the look of longish natural nails. I have also recently started filing them and trying to shape them. I bought a Germanikure nail file and dont hate the feeling of the file anymore. I was wondering if anyone had some helpful tips to properly file your nails or recommendations for videos on YouTube. I dont want to over file my nails and weaken them and would like to even out the shape a little bit. I dont think I can grow my nails out any longer due to clinical rotations starting next week. TIA!:). My current routine is just a sally Hansen top coat like once a week so they are shiny.

Hi everyone! I am so confused and would appreciate any guidance or tips yall have:). Context I am 24 and have had normal-dry skin my whole life. I've never really dealt with oily skin or acne besides like 1 or 2 pimples around my period. I see them forming for like a day or 2 and then they are gone over the course of the next 2-3 days. The pimples are usually sort of big and hurt but nothing cystic. The first 3 photos I took this morning. The 4th is a bunch of acne that showed up on my forehead literally overnight. 5th is my normal skin texture w/ no products 6th was taken almost 2 months ago. Normal routine AM: Cleanser: Tatcha rice wash, Toner: Laneige skin cream, Moisturizer: Tatcha dewy skin cream, Sunscreen: Differn Oil absorbing sun screen. PM routine: Cleanser: La Roche-posay Effaclar Salicylic acid 2% Toner: Laneige skin cream, Moisturizer: Cerave moisturizing cream, Retinol: Adapalene Differn Gel. There is a month in between the photo taken 2 months ago and the 4th photo. During that time I was getting weekly b12 injections to correct a deficiency. I have switched to monthly. I think the injections are the source of my acne/new skin texture. I was wondering if anyone had advice on if I need to change up my routine or how to combat b12 acne. TIA!
