Help us bring DeutschGenie to the world

Help us bring DeutschGenie to the world 🌍

We're an early-stage German exam-prep platform — built for learners preparing for Goethe, ÖSD, and telc certifications. The product is taking shape. Now we need someone (or two someones) to help it find its audience.

We're opening two parallel collaborations:

🎯 Marketing Advisor — for experienced marketers

You've run growth, content, or social campaigns before. You know what moves the needle for EdTech, language learning, or B2C digital products. You don't want another full-time job, but you do want to shape strategy for something early, meaningful, and yours to influence.

What you'd bring:

→ 3+ years in marketing, growth, content, or social

→ EdTech, language, or online-course experience is a strong plus

→ Strategic thinking — you can see two moves ahead, not just execute campaigns

What you'd do:

- Shape our marketing direction and channel strategy

- Advise on positioning, audience targeting, and campaign priorities

- Mentor and review the work of our junior contributor (see below)

- A few hours a week — high leverage, low friction

🌱 Marketing Contributor — for students & fresh talent

You're a student, recent graduate, or just starting your marketing journey. You have ideas, energy, taste, and you want to build a real portfolio on a real product — not invent fictional case studies for class.

What you'd bring:

→ Studying marketing, communications, media, languages, or just naturally drawn to it

→ Strong instincts for social media (you can tell good content from bad)

→ Creativity, initiative, willingness to learn fast

→ Bonus: German language learner or speaker (you understand our users)

What you'd do:

- Create content for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn

- Help execute campaigns and track what's working

- Bring fresh ideas — your generation is our audience

- Get hands-on mentorship from our advisor

The honest deal — same for both roles:

✓ Fully remote, fully flexible, part-time

✓ Pre-revenue stage: no salary right now, and we won't pretend otherwise

✓ As DeutschGenie grows and generates revenue, contribution will be recognized — we're open to discussing what that looks like (revenue share, equity, or paid work) with the right person

✓ Real responsibility, real ownership, real work you can point to

For students: this is the rare chance to build a portfolio with a live brand from day one, get mentored by an experienced marketer, and have your work actually shipped — not graded.

For experienced marketers: this is a low-time-commitment way to shape something from the ground up and have an outsized impact.

If either track sounds like you, send us a short note. Tell us:

→ Which role you're applying for (advisor or contributor)

→ Your background in 3–4 sentences

→ One marketing campaign — yours or someone else's — that you genuinely admire, and why

Looking for a Germanistik mind who wants to help build something

Looking for a Germanistik mind who wants to help build something 🇩🇪

DeutschGenie is in its earliest days. We're building an exam-prep platform that actually understands the Goethe, ÖSD, and telc exams from the inside — and to do that, we need someone who has been inside them.

Upfront and honest: we're pre-revenue. This isn't a paid role today, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we're offering is a real seat at the table while the product is still being shaped — and a commitment that as DeutschGenie grows, the people who helped build it grow with it.

Who we're looking for:

→ A Germanistik graduate, certified German teacher, or licensed examiner (Goethe / ÖSD / telc)

→ Deep familiarity with exam formats across A1–C2 (telc Pflege is a plus)

→ A creative mind — you see a flat exercise and immediately know how to make it click

→ Genuine passion for the German language and the learners who struggle with it

Where you'd make an impact:

- Designing and refining exam-prep content across all four skills

- Calibrating our exam simulations for realism and difficulty

- Bringing examiner-level intuition into how we score and give feedback

- Helping decide what the product becomes next

The honest deal:

✓ Part-time, fully remote, fully flexible — your schedule

✓ No salary right now. As we grow and generate revenue, contribution will be recognized — we're open to discussing what that looks like (revenue share, equity, paid work) with the right person

✓ The kind of project you can point to in five years and say "I helped build that"

This is for someone drawn to the mission, not the paycheck — at least not yet.

If you've ever looked at existing German exam-prep tools and thought "I could do this better" — message us. Tell us your background and one thing you'd change about how German exams are commonly taught.

📩 deutschgenie.app@gmail.com or DM here.

German language expert wanted

[Advisor] German language expert wanted for AI learning app — equity-based

Building [DeutschGenie](https://deutschgenie.com/), an AI-powered German learning app. The AI generates exercises and explanations; I need a human expert to keep it honest.

**Looking for:** Native/near-native German speaker with DaF, Germanistik, or German-teaching background.

**Commitment:** 2–4 hours/month, async, remote. Reviewing generated content and flagging issues.

**Compensation:** Advisor equity (0.25–1%, vesting). No salary — we're early-stage and bootstrapped. Being transparent so no one's time gets wasted.

If you're a retired teacher, PhD student in Germanistik, or experienced DaF instructor who finds the AI-in-education angle interesting, drop me a DM with your background.
