I am getting an MRI next week and I just received this estimate from Froedtert. Is this normal?? It just seems absolutely absurd

Edit:

#1, I did not expect this to gain as much traction as it do, but I’m very grateful for everyone’s response with advice and recommendations of alternative solutions

#2, this is for w brain MRI & Orbital MRI with contrast. No anesthesia

#3, it is scheduled at Rayus, not the hospital

#4, NO this is not the post insurance cost, though I haven’t hit my deductible and I am in a high deductible plan BUT it just seems absolutely absurd how high the “pre insurance” cost is and still my out of pocket cost will be significant

27F - just hit the 500k mark!! BUT, 3 days before I have to wire 20% that as a down payment on our first home 😭 having a really tough time knowing that money is going away. I know that’s exactly what we’ve been saving for, but it’s a hard pill to swallow!
