Amalfi even worth it in November?

Hey everyone so as the title explains I’m trying to figure out if it would even be worth it to spend a night in Amalfi. We’re heading to Italy in about mid November and I wanted to go to Amalfi specifically on November 13 to the 14th to spend my birthday.

The issue is that my cousin is currently studying abroad in Florence and while she has been living there for the past month, she has never experienced November or winter in the Amalfi Coast.

After a lot of research my sister and I have read is that it will be rainy and windy and that there’s going to be a lot of closures. Also may be some travel issues and my cousin also did get stuck out there during the summer, resulting in a $200 cab ride back to their place. This is where the idea for the hotel stay for one night came in.

I’m just feeling a little discouraged but I don’t want to rearrange my entire birthday plan if there’s a chance that we could still enjoy it. Especially considering I have worked so hard to be able to afford this trip, and it isnt as easy to just go back as my cousin suggests. When her parents and my uncle are completely funding her to study abroad there and she is able to go see and do much more, like spending last weekend in the dolomites.

Obviously, the fact that I really want to go here as one of the 3 places I absolutely have to see in Italy, and that every time I bring it up to her, the idea seems to be pushed farther away from the itinerary has led me here to ask y’all what was your experience in the Amalfi Coast around those dates in November and if it’s even worth it trying to make the trip out there to spend the night or if we should just find somewhere else to go or something else to do.

EDIT: I feel i should add that money isnt the issue here as I have stated that I work hard and have planned to spend a good amount of funds, the issue is being forced to stay in Florence basically the entire duration of the trip because she will be busy with school. Hence why I am trying to figure out if the weather/travel is actually not worth it/makes it difficult to reach or if she is PARTLY just saying that so we will stay behind with her. I love her to death but this is our first time in Europe, she LIVES there and it isnt the kind of trip to be playing “I won’t go if you can’t go.” Nonetheless, I am now looking at 2-3 nights in the amalfi instead of 1 and 2-3 nights in rome and then ending in Florence with a day trip to Venice. Thank you everyone for the insights!

Leaving USAA

So I submitted my two weeks on Monday of this week and I am going to another financial tech company. However, I must preface by saying that as far as I know USAA is unaware of said competitor.

I currently work in the fraud department, but have had the feeling that they are trying to build a case to let me go. At first it was not meeting by just one metric, and after working my ass of to exceed the metric. It quickly turned into them singling out and reviewing each case for accuracy, which I was previously told is mostly by discretion. I am now realizing that they are more worried about quantity over quality and I just do not feel comfortable withholding thousands from members who, upon investigation, have obviously been frauded or vice versa.

In other news, I am currently on medical leave which will be ending, thankfully, on the day I start my new position. My question is I submitted the resignation on Monday and it was not accepted until yesterday. And upon attempting to login to Workday today, I can no longer do so?

I’m aware that not everyone who submits their two weeks are able to work out the full two weeks, but I’m trying to understand if that also means we aren’t able to log into Workday from that point. Not being physically at work and on medical leave does make this a little more confusing as I have all my equipment at home and I’m not completely sure of the next steps. I assume they would be emailing me the next steps, however, I just thought I would still be able to log into at least Workday until the 20th.

I will not lie I have advocated and stood by USAA as long as I have worked for them as I appreciated the benefits and opportunities provided. I am also leaving a few months before I am fully vested in my pension, which is just as fustrating. I believe the changes in management have, unfortunately, heavily contributed to this series of events.

(Also question: Does anyone have any experience with Greendot Financial or any knowledge of the environment in comparison to USAA?)
