Is the area around Parc de l'Étoile / Strasbourg Cathedral safe for a solo female traveler during the night?

I will arrive in Strasbourg at around 3:00 a.m. and may need to stay outside somewhere near the cathedral and Parc de l'Étoile until sunrise. I am concerned about safety at that time of night.

On my return trip to Belgium, I will also need to catch a bus from the same area at around 2:00 a.m.

Would it be safe to wait there alone, or should I look for an alternative place to stay until the morning?
