My attempt at a multiple layered cocktail that didn’t go as planned. The blue curaçao was supposed to float at the very top but was more dense than the middle layer. Guess I gotta go back to chemistry class haha. Maybe I should remove the club soda from the recipe?

1.5oz Blanco tequila
1oz lime juice
0.50oz simple syrup
0.75oz strawberry syrup
Float of blue curaçao
Splash of club soda

Pour the strawberry syrup into glass, then add ice to fill glass. Shake tequila, lime juice, and simple syrup in a shaker and strain into glass to layer on top of strawberry syrup. Add a splash of club soda to lengthen cocktail and top with a float of blue curaçao.

A cucumber cocktail I garnished two ways to show off my wife’s preserved wedding bouquet tray
1.5oz blanco tequila, 0.75oz St. Germain liqueur, 0.75oz lemon juice, 0.25oz agave syrup, 3-4 cucumber slices

Throw 3-4 cucumber slices in a tin with agave syrup and lemon juice. Muddle all ingredients together then pour in elderflower liqueur and tequila into tin. Shake all ingredients and double strain into a glass over clean ice.

Does anyone know of any local studios, event spaces, community centers, or similar venues that can be rented for a few hours or a day?

I’m interested in hosting cocktail classes and am looking for a space that can comfortably accommodate around 20 people. Most of my online searches have only turned up commercial properties available for long-term lease, which isn’t what I’m looking for.

A good example of the type of venue I have in mind is The Community Shared Space in Carmel (The Community⁠), but would like the event space to be in or closer to Salinas.

If anyone has recommendations for similar spaces or has hosted classes/workshops before, I’d greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
