Just picked up a 41mm Ceramic Combat Sub (Black/Tan) for $275.
Insane deal? Or is this typical for the non-metal band.

Hey all, where can I purchase the 41mm Ceramic Combat sub with the black and gold but also with the full metal strap?
I see a few places selling the watch but with a fabric strap. Best deal for a new watch is $479 from Ashford. However, I really would like the metal strap.
I can see in the past Joma and Ashford had it a few months ago for $509 with the metal strap. Any suggestions for where I should grab it from? Currently waiting around for eBay to pop up a listing and checking retailers regularly.
Any other suggestions?
Hey all, looking to collect Glycine subs. Were there any cool editions you would suggest?
Hey all, my 2021 X5M has recently begun to make a sound near the rear differential area when turning either direction, at around 5-10 mph, during light application of the accelerator. Any slower or faster and it doesn’t happen. I want to mention that is it not happening during a full steering lock.
It happens only at a roughly 180-210 degree turn of the steering wheel in either direction. So about a half turn (so the wheel is upside down) and just a tiny bit more. If the wheel is any less or any more, the issue isn’t present.
The sound is definetly metal, and best described as a slightly muted can of rocks / scrapping.
The car shudders when this happens.
The car has 51k miles on it. At 50k, I had the following done: engine oil, sparks, coil packs, both diff fluid services, transmission fluid service (gasket too), and transfer case fluid service. Parts from FCP. All OE or OEM.
I really want to stress that the noise comes from the rear, exactly along the rear axle. It does not some from under the driver/ passenger or from the front of the car. I assumed it was transfer case which would be insanely unfortunate as warranty ended at 50k. However, noise is clearly not coming from the TC.
Am I mistaken that a faulty TC makes noise from only itself? Can a faulty TC cause noise from the rear differential area?
It appears noise is just as loud from either side of the vehicle near the rear wheels. (I ran alongside it while wife purposefully made it make noise.) I also sat in the boot with tail fully open and the shuddering was definetly coming from right below me.
Has anyone had to deal with any similar issues? For those of you with TC issues, where exactly was the noise coming from?
I have a feeling it isn’t TC and is a diff/axle problem. I was thinking it was the wheel bushings but the noise is the same on both sides and is loud enough that you can tell it originates from a single source.
Please let me know your thoughts. Apologies for the long post.
Hey all, how is it that the 42mm combat subs have the same listed lug to lug as the 41mm ceramic combat subs? Relatively new to watches but a bit confused here. Any help would be appreciated.
Hello all, I am a hobby diver / spear fisher and my electric Casio just broke. (My fault) I am looking to replace it with something a bit more fashionable ideally to match my swim gear and even maybe attract some better looking fish if they are into watches.
This will be an absolute beater, so pricing should be somewhat a concern as I definetly can’t churn through submariners the way I churn through electric Casios.
I was hoping for something rated for 20-30bar, mechanical, 34-39mm, and around $600.
A buddy recommended Tissot, with their SeaStar 1000 (rated at 330m depth). But I realized that only the electric versions are smaller than 40mm and the mechanical version jump to $1000 from the previous $400 quartz.
Any suggestions?
Hello all,
Currently in Sapporo for vacation and I was hoping to find a specific Seiko 5 watch. It was discontinued in 2023 so I can only find it used. However, I walked around downtown Sapporo yesterday and went to every second hand store Google Maps recommended. Across the 7 stores I visited (stores like 2nd street) there was only a total of 70-80 watches across ALL 7 stores. A total of maybe 10 Seiko watches.
I asked a few people and all the could tell me was to go to 2nd street. I went to both locations but the watch selection was incredibly limited.
I looked for over an hour on Google trying to find where I should go with absolutely no result. It kept pushing me to Daikokuya but both stores in the area were buy only. I guess it’s good for my health though. The two Daikokuya stores added at least 6,000 steps to my daily count.
I asked the clerk at Daikokuya and he didn’t really want to talk to me saying they don’t sell to foreigners or ship to the US. I think he misunderstood me a bit, as he was focused on the shipping aspect and I was trying to explain I was just looking for a local place to buy. I didn’t want to be rude and keep asking so I left and said thank you.
Am I insane for outright not believing that for a city of 2 million people there are only 70 second hand watches for sale at stores?
Any advice would be really appreciated .
