I’ve been going back through some of my older Total War cinematics and decided to completely remaster one of the biggest ones I ever made.

This time I wanted it to cover more than just the battle outside Minas Tirith, so the cinematic follows the wider Siege of Gondor — including Osgiliath, the Beacons of Gondor, the Muster of the Rohirrim, Minas Tirith, the Mûmakil and the Army of the Dead.

It was made using The Dawnless Days for Total War: Attila.

I put a lot of work into the new edit, particularly the pacing, battle shots, sound and overall presentation, so I’d genuinely be interested to hear what other LOTR/Total War fans think.

Also curious — if I remaster another LOTR battle after this, which one would you pick?

The Easterlings of Rhûn face the heavily armoured Dwarves of Erebor in some of the biggest and most chaotic battles of this entire campaign!

Massive armies collide across the battlefield as Easterling cavalry, archers and infantry fight against the deadly Dwarven shield walls. With brutal close combat, desperate charges and battles that could decide the future of Rhûn, this may be the craziest episode yet.

This campaign is played in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord using a Lord of the Rings mod.
