Playing detective

Here’s a kit many of us are familiar with and now I see why it’s so popular! I just started on it and so far it’s been an enjoyable build. I’d love to customize it but haven’t thought of how just yet…. I don’t want to change it too much since I think it’s pretty cool as is.

This makes me want some of the other detective kits.

I’d love to hear if anyone has completed it and customized it. 🕵🏻‍♀️

My first Anavrin kit.. and only because I finally scored one for cheap lol

I’ve got to say, I can’t wait to see what the hype is about! Anavrins kits are way too expensive for me to justify buying one so when I was able to get this one at a very low price I had no option but to get it!

Not sure how soon I’ll get around to it but I now have an Anavrin kit in my stash (for cheap!) lol :)

First lights mod!

Currently onto my first 4 sided build and I’m really having fun with it! It’s called “Houses in Istanbul”.

This kit doesn’t have LED lights so I’m adding some (it’s my first time adding lights to a kit)! I plan to hide them with the buildings and as much greenery as needed however I’m not sure how it’s going to go yet! lol I’m hopeful it’ll be fiiiine 🙃

• I’ve added 2 yellow ones to the museum looking side, I was able to hide them well.

• A yellow one to the top of the hot air balloon side (it makes it look like a sunset🌅) I’m going to hide it with something just haven’t decided yet.

• I’m going to add white ones to the street side and white or blue to the beach side.

I’ll keep you guys posted!

Has anyone else built this one?

Progress update and I’m inspired to visit Hanoi’s Train Street irl!

Hi guys, just wanted to share a little update on my progress and a clear view of the train.

To those that will now feel the urge to buy it, I’m sorry! But do it! It’s a good one to have :)

Fresh off the backlog and onto the build desk… Ha Noi Train Coffee Street!

This is such an enjoyable build! The gravel was very different and I had a lot of fun with it.

However, as much as I have great things to say about the kit I will say that the wood pieces can be a bit flimsy and very sensitive, specifically where the door frames are attached.

Happy building!

Joohour has 2 new horror theme kits on the way! They’re currently under manufacturing test and will be released in the next month or two.

They’re not a typical book nook but “something special”, also not sure if both will be horror theme but I think I so.

I’ll have a preview soon and will share it. I can’t wait to see what they’re working on! 😊

Hi guys! The Toy Story book nook I received as a surprise gift is finally done!

It’s very cute and fun, but it think I’ll add this one to our nursery 🤭😍

Those side panels are stickers and I was very VERY careful to align them as best I could.

It’s a 3 battery (AA) so I’ll be able to just use my battery eliminators without having to swap out the battery pack.

I like how the nooks light turns off after a bit and turns on when the sensor feels movement.

The butterfly’s on the roof were a pain to do but I improvised and decided to add them after all.

Hope you enjoy!
… And thanks to my wife for the cool ass gift!

Hi guys! I completed Toy Story and was just sitting here thinking about which kit I want to build next….

Do I want easy?

Do I want to prolong a build for weeks and customize?

Do I want to build a regular nook or go with a “Chinese street food” style one?

Point is this is part of the enjoyment and excitement of this hobby! I’ve gathered a bit of a collection with my back log but I just see it as part of the hobby and have decided to embrace it :)

I know many of us here have back logs so let’s see em!!! If you can post a pic it would be fun to see!

Jack’s Book Nookery - customized

Hi guys! Ok I’m finished 🥵 I started “Jacks Bookery” as a palate cleanser for an easy build, HOWEVER, once I started customizing one thing, it didn’t stop! What should’ve taken only days took weeks, but I’m extremely happy with the results :)

Here’s some of things I added (a lot of things reflecting what I have in my own craft/office room):

• Outside. - A bicycle in place of the post stand the kit comes with

• Outside stand - personal selection of books

• Greenery on the outside (love the way it came out!)

• Board games on the book stands outside and on the bookshelf inside

• Left wall - Book nooks on display, and viewable from the outside window ( Street Scene and Sakura Wine Alley by Rolife and Eternal Bookstore by CuteBee)

• Book nooks for sale! :) these boxes came out super cute, I would’ve made lots more but I didn’t have space to place them.

• On the front stand - Salt lamp, Acotar and Throne of Glass books, Puppies manual book and newspapers.

• Bookshelf on the back - a Kleenex box (imo this came out very cute!)

• Back wall frames - My American bully doggie because he’s my world, picture of us and Las Vegas art!

• Back wall - A fish tank and swapped out kit books!

• Right wall - Posters (The Cure, Ramones) and vinyl records deco. Vinyl records of Adele and Selena! Also, Nancy Drew books.

• almost forgot! A 3D plant on the outside bookshelf to the right but it’s hidden in the pic :/

Now on to Space Capsule! I hope you enjoy the pics and happy building!
