We all want KL-E-O, but what about all the other lonely machines in the wasteland?

Hey guys; quick question, does the long 15 mod (ncr expansion) start you off in Doc Mitchell’s house as normal?
I was under the impression that you started with the new content, but I may be confusing it with another long 15 mod.
Just installed it on top of viva new vegas via mod organizer. I saw it in my load order on my launch screen, so I’d assume I need to start it at the 188 like others say.

Mom said it’s my turn to ask about endless (guides read; teambuilding+boss killer question)
Is this a decent starting team? I’m reading guides. I’d really like to see late waves in action with an explanation of what’s going on.
Does pyukumuku function as a boss killer after gaining sturdy through splicing, and countering with a move like comeuppance?
Should I allocate points elsewhere, and try to pick up mons I need along the way after splicing the first time?
Does smeargle transfer sketched moves? I’d probably want to grab mat block from ledyba and release at the start if that’s the case. Prankster with dark void and mat block seems like it’s the way to go…
I’ve also looked at the normalize and darkrai strats; I’d need to unlock abilities and passives for those mons; preferentially with a few shinies.
Seeing levels in the tens of thousands on here is overwhelming for me, but I really want to learn how to play this way.
Just don’t want to get through 1500 floors like last time with a guess and a dream, but I feel like this can get me pretty far.
