Sig MCX Rattler LT SBR in 300blk with LPM Anthem S2
In Virginia so not a lot of time left. But hoping to find a 13” 5.56 RNL if there are any left. Thanks.
Another post - but I ordered the K-VAR 250 special for the Arsenal Sam 5. I haven't accepted delivery of the rifle yet but confirmed it's a "61" serial number, specifically XK 61 ----.
Arsenal CS says there is no concern with over gassing and all rifles including this serial have been fixed.
Any concern with accepting delivery? A little bummed it's basically "new" old stock from K-VAR being a 2021 production rifle. It's at my FFL just haven't picked it up yet.
In Virginia and saw KVAR has the Sam 5 on sale for $1499.
This would be my first and only 5.56 AK (had a zpap m70 years ago and sold it).
Is this the one to get or are there better options available now. Sadly seems I missed out on the Beryl’s. Sticking with 5.56 as I don’t want to stock another caliber.
What’s the consensus on keeping or removing the 1/2x28 thread protector when using a 3 lug adapter on the SP5/SP5K? I’ve had it walk almost all the way off while shooting suppressed.
Just wondering if removing it and leaving the threads exposed is ok.
Edit - added context, using the Rugged Sub9 with Rugged Universal 3 lug mount. It's a taper lock design (bixler style) that screws onto the 3 lug extension.
Saw palmetto has the black 16S in stock on clearance. In Virginia so trying to decide if I should grab the black 16S from palmetto or another HK MR556A4 SBR. I've always wanted a SCAR, but really wanted the FDE version.
Edit - I already have a MR556A4 SBR (2nd pic) and a MR762A4 (not pictured)
Listed in order of lightest to heaviest. All using comstock steel plan b adapter (velos using charlie version).
Dead Air Lazarus 6 - 16.01oz
Silencer Co. Velos LBP - 16.57oz
CAT WB RDM - 17.56oz
Ridgeback Defense Rhodie 6 - 17.98oz
I just got the Rhodie today so haven’t had a chance to shoot it, but of the other 3 my favorite is the Lazarus 6.
Yes I zeroed the scale with the paper towel.
Rhodie 6 finally approved. This is the recent batch from Thoroughbred Armament.
Weighs in at 16.33oz, roughly 1.33oz over the 15oz weight listed by Ridgeback. Cause for concern? Probably not. Annoying though. At least no metal shavings.
EDIT - looks like Ridgeback website now shows Rhodie 6 Inconel weight as 15.5oz.
LGS has a 8.7” SBR version of the APC223 for sale for around $3500. Trying to decide if it’s worth grabbing as a non-AR type pickup before the potential AWB in VA.
Is an 8.7” 5.56 type rifle really practical? Those with one, do you regret the purchase?
