For over a decade, Paul and Eli have tackled a number of long, weird and tiring walks for their “walkabout” episodes. It’s eyes down for the forthcoming 500th episode! Paul is clearing out the CheapShow cupboards and aiming to craft a nice blank slate for the future. He’s back again, the cheeky chap who likes to take time out from his telly shows to join Cheapshow for more cheap thrills! Paul & Eli are joined by actor Ethan Lawrence (Horrible Histories) for a good, old fashioned edition on the economy comedy podcast. Thankfully, he’s also curated his own Price of Shite for the hosts to battle over. He’s got five charity shop items and ready to hand out p’twings! And oh boy howdy, has Ethan bought some crap for Paul & Eli to price up. Elsewhere in the podcast, it’s time to warm up your taste buds as the terrible trio taste a range of “crispy chicken skins” and a Pepsi drink that is PACKED with caffeine. However, what with Ethan being in charge for a good chunk of this episode, this allows for a bit more argy-bargy between the two main hosts. When Paul doesn’t like what he hears, he’s going to start editing this episode more severely! What a child!

Every now and then, CheapShow likes to reach out and attempt to grab someone for the show they think would be a perfect fit… Whether they are or not. It’s a huge honour to have someone on the show who’s been a massive inspiration. However, now that he’s here, what can poor Marcus expect? There’re some uniquely British snacks for him to savour, a few spooky books to absorb and there’s also a very special Price of Shite to evaluate. On top of all that, Paul & Eli have found a few vinyl records to inflict on Marcus… and he may never be the same again!

Full disclosure, this episode isn’t exactly “cheap” but it was necessary. Paul is having a bit of a tough time at the moment, and wanted to do something where he could let off some steam and have some genuine fun… So, on his own dime, Paul has paid for him and Eli to have a day out at one of the UK’s best known theme parks, Thorpe Park in Surrey. It’s been a long time since either of the Cheap Chaps had visited Thorpe Park, so now is a good time to check out the big, scary rides that exist past the turnstiles! They’ve only got a little over 5 hours, so they’ll cram in as much as they can. Paul can’t get enough of the most intense, thrilling rides at the park, but Eli may be a little more reluctant to be thrown about. This week, allow us to “have a bit of fun” as Paul and Eli tackle long queues, junk food, an overwhelming number of “young people”, and experience some of the most intense rollercoasters the UK has to offer. Whether you like it or not, you’ll hear every scream, cheer and roar of the rides this week on a temporarily “not cheap” episode of CheapShow.
