First Landcruiser

First Landcruiser

After months of looking I’ve just secured a 1996 1HD-FT 80 series auto. Clock has about 450,000kms on it. 2 elderly owners and hasn’t seen any off-roading. Planning to daily drive it and turn it into a camping build.

I paid $30,000AUD for it and want to know if this was a fair price for what I got. Overall extremely happy with my purchase. Cheers!

1996 80 series I’m looking to buy. Everything was alright but the biggest red flag is the 2 on the odometer. Reckon he’s done a big mischief and rolled it back or is it just normal wear and tear? Let me know cheers legends!

Looking to buy an 80 series for daily driving and camping. I’ve found a 1fz-fe for a reasonable price but I think I’ll be spending heaps on fuel driving to work most days.

I’ve also found a 1hd-t for a higher price. My main concern with the 1fz is fuel consumption as I don’t wanna get stung at the pump every time I refill.

Would it be better to pay more for the diesel or go for the petrol?

I go camping a fair bit and drive 9 hours to nsw for the ski season when winter hits. Please let me know what the go is, cheers!

Looked at this 92 1fz-fe 80 series today. Bloke selling wanted $10,000 but we agreed on $9,000. Has 300,000kms, almost completely stock. Starts and idles alright. Went for a test drive and was all good, had some leaks, check engine light was on the entire time (said he didn’t know why) paint was a bit rough but what can you expect from a 30 year old car.

Am I crazy for passing this up and looking for one with a bit more done to it??
