Bought some tinned burgers after a conversation about the snide ones we'd eat as kids.

Pretty much as expected. The burgers were closer to mush than a solid burger and were reminiscent of those heinz burgers in beans from back in the 80s. The onion slurry reminded me more of baked bean juice than gravy.

They tasted ok-ish. 4/10 never to be repeated.

Fortunately I'd also cooked some smash burgers for our real tea.

So sad to see so many empty stores in the Salford Quays mall.

We come to Salford a lot and usually take a lap of the mall on the same level as Kargo. This morning I was at a loose end whilst the Mrs was asleep in the hotel so took a look up the escalator. All but 2 lots were empty, probably 20 in total.

I understand the reasons why but what can be done to rejuvenate this space in what is a pretty busy area?

I'm not talking about date night with your partner but never actually been on a date with a stranger?

I met my first long term partner in a nightclub in the 90s. That fizzled out after we bought a house together and I ended up marrying a work colleague a few years later.

But I never went on a date as such, we just hooked up and hung out.

I have friends who are on all the apps and are having their own fun/nightmares/drama as a result and I feel like I've missed out. Not that I'm complaining as it seems to be a bloody horror story for most.

We got the tickets on early access for £25 discount per ticket but were only offered a refund when our date was cancelled. Booking another date for the same show would have cost us £50 extra.

We were given no option to move our tickets to another date despite plenty of seats being available so decided to email their customer care department.

Not expecting any positive outcome we were surprised to get a call where an agent was able to set us up with a new date.

Now why couldn't they have just offered that on the app?
