It comes up to my knees. Reminds me of a lambs ear but I don’t think it is. There is a lambs ear growing 3 feet over from it and it’s not tall like this one. Indiana

I noticed when I went to put my dishes up and ants were everywhere. So I started taking it all out and found this. I think something must have spilled while cooking or something but it’s almost looks like salt or some time of hard powder

I just built this garden box this year in Indiana. The first layer I have down is a bunch of sticks/logs/bark, then compost I got from a mulch place, then topsoil from the same place, but also 4 full bags miracle grow, top soil stuff that had worm castings in it, 3 bags of some other kinda of dirt with worm castings in it, and like 6 left over bags of miracle grow I had accumulated over time in random spots, and idk honestly if I had dirt/compost it went in. I’ve required a lot of random things over the years because of my house plants. I even stuck in the insides of these giant tea bags we have at work. It’s been hot and warm in Indiana where I’m at an so I’ve been watering with my garden hose almost daily. I bought beef boy tomatoes, some type of cherry tomatoes, some sort of yellow tomatoes, and regular green bell peppers from a green house. I planted Mother’s Day weekend. It did rain a ton a couple days after they were planted but other than like I said I’ve been watering them. I planted cucumbers 4 days ago and they immediately made new leaves and are getting longer but I know they grow fast. The peppers started making flowers a week ago so I chopped them off as soon as I seen it. Today I noticed the tomatoes are making flowers as well so I chopped them off as well. I know that’s what they do before they are pollinated and make fruit. I’ve grown a garden with my mom from 12-18 so I’m just stumped on what I’m doing wrong. What step am I missing?
