The Powerscalers version of Spider-Man doesn't exist

I had the particularly unpleasant experience of interacting with TikTok power scalers and some Reddit power scalers talking and apparently Spider-Man can break adamantium, he can solo the X-Men any day of the week, he's immune to telepathy and mind control, and he's this and that.

And they pull a panel here, a panel there, an episode from a TV show, marvel adventures cover, and it's like... Do you actually read Spider-Man?

Which Spider-Man story in the past 30 years even plays out if Spider-God is real?

I've been reading Spider-Man since Brand New Day (the run, not the movie), and I love Spider-Man, I am a fan of Spider-Man. The powerscaling Spider-Man is unrecognisable to me. He doesn't exist.

I also read X-Men, and while Spider-Man is definitely a good and powerful character in his own right, he's not soloing an average X-Man team -- the bloody Juggernaut is on the X-Men.

Like... these stories simply refute them argumentum ad lapidem style. Just an annoying Sunday rant.

Just read through 80s to 90s X-Men and my reaction to the Psylocke body swap is... Hey that's not what happened!

I just got done with Fatal Attractions and I'm thinking back to the body swap deal with Revanche which happened an arc or two ago. Since I binged the entire thing, the whole flashback we are shown with Betsy meeting Kwannon and then merging with her or imprinting on her is... well... Not what happened.

In the Acts of Vengeance Tie In when Psylocke is turned into Lady Mandarin, Betsy is captured as British Betsy, brought in by the hand as British Betsy, and then her body is modified by the Hand until she looks Asian, or as Hank would call it, Japanese by way of England.

The second flashback shown when Revanche and Psylocke confront the Silver Samurai and his boss is just a genuinely different series of events that doesn't work with what we saw occur.

I suppose it's one of those things that could happen with editors not checking each others books but is harder to get away with in the 2020s when you can binge read every issue and notice inconsistencies (though some still slip through like Magneto sinking Genosha in Uncanny X-Men by Bunn only for X-Factor FTA to reveal Genosha was some sort of corporate fever dream).

Poor Betsy has been getting slandered because a writer didn't check the past.

Could we see a 7 Star Doom this December?

We've gotten 7 Star Archangel and 7 Star Hulking, so some of the most legendary 6 stars are coming to 7 Star. But more importantly, Avengers Doomsday is coming out around December and MCOC often has its Banquet around that time too.

It would make sense, no?
