For the collector craze (Produce statuettes and board games at a rate of 200t/hr.) trophy, can you just put 200t on a ship and then put it in your trading post?

I'm trying to get all achievements and just saw the Pompeii (Reach a population of 50.000 on the volcanic island) achievement. I'm currently at 17.000 and not sure if I can get 50.000.
How did you do it?
