South Korea implemented women-only night buses

South Korea implemented women-only night buses in early 2026. The service began operating in major cities like Seoul and Busan to protect night workers and students. Yes, the same country where military service is mandatory for all able-bodied male citizens between the ages of 18 and 28. Enough said.

  1. Salud mental

  1. Trabajo infantil

Double standards regarding punishments for rapists

Have you ever tried observing people's reactions if you comment in favor of genital mutilation for male rapists and then in favor of genital mutilation for female rapists? I did, and the feedback I received was completely opposite. When I commented in favor of the former, I received approval, while when I commented in favor of the latter, people started talking about human rights. Others said what I said was scary, and I was also accused of being a "potential femicide perpetrator." And yes... whoever said that last thing admitted to supporting genital mutilation for men who rape.

I came across a video on Instagram. You can find it by searching: “a girl goes viral after getting stuck in an elevator with a group of immature guys and shut them all down when they started laughing.”

I started reading the comments and found things like:

“Twelve guys and none of them were capable of stopping the ones making jokes, just like the majority who don’t question what others do. That’s why it’s ALL men.”

“This is exactly how abuse and rape happen.”

“Then they write that it’s a lie that there’s a pact between them, that it’s a lie that all men are like that, but here’s the proof: none of them step in, they’re all complicit.”

“Pure patriarchy.”

“What’s worse than getting stuck in an elevator? Getting stuck with men. I’d rather be trapped with a bear.”

“Twelve boys, one starts the joke and the rest laugh and go along with it. None of them sets a boundary with the others because dick-waving matters more, which is why we say they’re all the same.”

“Not all men, but always a man. Another example that no matter the age, women are harassed anywhere, anytime.”

“Guys hyping each other up using a woman as an excuse.”

“None of the people present had the courage to stop their friends. So yes, all men, by action or omission.”

“These are the ones who end up killing women and the justice system does nothing.”

“These kids should be reported for group harassment.”

“Chemical castration for all of them.”

---

What did the guys actually do for people in the comments to say such horrific things? Did they say anything obscene to the girl? No. All they did was say “middle school” and laugh. Yes, it was disrespectful and immature, but the hatred in the comments is completely disproportionate — treating the guys as if they were one step away from becoming murderers or accomplices to crimes.

I’m sure that if the situation were reversed, people wouldn’t be saying any of this. And if it had been a group of guys with no girl in the elevator, doing exactly the same thing, the video probably wouldn’t have gone viral at all.

If a woman makes a sexist comment against men, and you, as a man, tell her you didn’t like what she said and that it’s not okay, the most likely outcome is that you’ll be ridiculed. This emotional invalidation usually comes packaged with repetitive phrases these women have memorized without ever questioning them, such as: “Misogyny kills, misandry only hurts men’s feelings.” Is that really true? It doesn’t matter — a lie repeated a thousand times becomes truth.

Is it true that only women suffer oppression because of their gender? They don’t care to investigate whether men experience gender-based oppression. In their feminist discourse, that idea doesn’t even make sense — it’s like suggesting a rich person could be oppressed. This is the same mindset that produces statements like: “The worst thing that can happen to a woman is being raped and killed, while the worst thing that can happen to a man is his favorite football team losing.” You quickly realize they have no real understanding of men’s lived experiences.

There is a very common type of reasoning used by feminists, widely known as the **fallacy of relative privation** — or, more colloquially, the “but there are children in Africa” argument. It consists of claiming that a problem or complaint is invalid or doesn’t deserve attention because something “worse” exists elsewhere. Logically, this is a fallacy: the existence of a greater tragedy does not invalidate a lesser problem.

It’s a powerful rhetorical tool because it appeals to guilt. By introducing an indisputably tragic fact (like death by starvation), the person suffering the smaller problem is made to feel selfish for complaining. Phrases like “Misogyny kills, misandry only hurts feelings” are classic examples of this fallacy. It also appears in sarcastic form: “Oh, poor men, they suffer so much from mean internet comments.”

There’s a massive double standard here. These are often the same feminists who are the first to complain about the most absurd things, victimizing themselves over the smallest slights and twisting innocent phrases to make tearful videos about how terrible men are — simply because someone didn’t use inclusive language or made a joke they didn’t like. They talk about how misogynistic the gaming community is and publish alarmist articles about misogyny online, yet aren’t these the same people who mock others for being “offended by internet comments”? Can anyone be more shameless? Why doesn’t “Poor women, they suffer so much from internet comments” apply in that case?

But when a man does the exact same thing — downplaying women’s minor complaints by comparing them to much more serious problems (for example, men being forced to go to war) — suddenly minimization is no longer acceptable. Now we must empathize with women, be considerate, and carefully watch our words when talking about them, even in social media comments.
