We have come so far 🤌🏻
I am simply amazed with how good the episodes have been recently.. I was so happy at one point today, that I was very close to even saying that ‘These episodes are worth the torture of last 3 months’, but then, I would be lying..
Nope.. it isn’t..
As a viewer who has been seeing this show from day 1, I can call out the times the show had good editing, good storytelling and good character arcs and then I can clearly see that owing to IPL, they were stalling so much in-between, and hence it became unbearable to watch for weeks when Simran was enforced to be in each and every memory where Heewab were there once.. Maaf toh nai kiya maine makers ko for that, and don’t think I will ever..
But I am quite impressed with the redemption lately 🤌🏻
Heewab have clearly become the ‘bane of our collective existence’ and yes, it makes me glad that I look forward to watching this show every day once again like earlier..
If anyone here is recently catching up on everything at once, maybe they will feel that this FD overreacted in-between and things weren’t that bad.. But I will beg to differ.. Things were really that bad.. the MUs kept piling up, the divorce was really uncalled for.. the plotholes were too many and Heewab scenes were far lesser.. Having said that, I would give credit to this entire FD across social media for calling out the makers, and rightfully so..
I was reading another post which mentioned that as millenials, we saw angry MLs having more focus as compared to soft boy era in last couple of years .. I think the collective conscience was changing around late 2010s.. the soft boy era ended in bollywood movies too.. reflected in ITV as well.. and I think it was a change that was welcomed by everyone like everything else.. just for the sake of change.. Like everyone now wants to go back to romcoms after having seen the likes of Animal movie..( As much as I enjoy SRK doing action, ofcourse I miss his Raj/Rahul era)
Nobody called out ASR’s toxicity at that the time IPK was at its peak.. I was and am a big Barun Sobti fan.. and yes IPK had a lot of issues, but back then it looked so good on screen.. Their chemistry was fire..
Again reel life isnt and shouldn’t be a reflective of real life.. but somewhere yes.. art imitates life and vise versa.. It’s not that we don’t have regressive shows with 2 sister, 1 guy trope even now.. we do. But what happened with TJJD was that fans called out the BS.. Nobody accepted the crap they were showing..
Again its a conundrum, cos the same ppl calling out the makers online, most likely aren’t even the TRP audience.. But yes.. one thing I have learnt after watching so much of ITV for years is that.. good storytelling always sells.. irrespective of which generation you belong to.. Its always a treat to watch well written characters even if they are morally grey.. Case in point : 1st 100 episodes of Katha Ankahee.. starts with a very very ethically wrong premise but the way they portray their characters and everything was actually good..
That’s it.. That’s the musings.. Pat on the back for each and every one of the FD to collectively making sure that we deserved good storytelling and for having them serve us like never before🫰🏻
