Force Dispositions

While most of the other factions have a pretty steady mix of dispositions for their detachments, it seems like we mostly just have Take and Hold, and Disruption, while the other three dispositions get one detachment each, and they’re all 2DP.

It seems like our playstyle might be a bit limited this edition. If you wanna do Purge the Foe objectives, you *have* to play Crusher Stampede. If you wanna do Priority Assets, you *have* to do Assimilation Swarm. If you wanna do Reconnaissance, you *have* to do Vanguard Onslaught. Meanwhile, Take and Hold gets Norn Queen, Warrior Bioform Onslaught, Invasion Fleet, and Unending Swarm, while Disruption gets Ambush Predators, SubAss, and Synaptic Nexus.

Now, I don’t think any of those three detachments are bad (Crusher Stampede could use a change imo) but I think most people are gonna be going with either Invasion Fleet or SubAss.

Since the new mission rules haven’t been released yet (as far as I’ve seen) it’s gonna be hard to say if this is a nerf for Tyranids or not. I don’t think it will be, as Take and Hold or Disruption seem like things Tyranids won’t be terrible at, but it will make it easier for an opponent to guess our disposition and plan their list accordingly. It may not give them much of an advantage, that remains to be seen.

What’s the vibe? Am I overthinking this?

Introducing: The Shattered Shields

My homebrew Warband, the Shattered Shields!

These are my very first CSM models and I’m incredibly proud of how they turned out.

The Shattered Shields (formerly the Praetorian Shields) are an Imperial Fists successor who had sworn an oath to protect a Hive World called Lucerne, which was situated near the Eye of Terror. After the Fall of Cadia, Chapter Master Gregor Tallis decided that their oath to Lucerne was more important than their oath to the Imperium. So, he made a deal with the ruinous powers. So long as the Shields fought in the name of Chaos, Lucerne would be safe. This came with a caveat, however. Once the deal was struck and the Shields left the world (taking some of the local guardsmen with them) the entire planet disappeared. Where Lurcerne once was, now only empty space could be found. Not even their moons remained. Their world would forever be safe, but they would never return.

Soon enough, I’ll be able to build up and paint their Chapter Master, Tallis Shieldbreaker (kitbashed Abbadon ofc).

Mephrit Dynasty Nightbringer

With this, I’ve rounded out 4000pts of Necrons. From here, I’ll be moving on to Chaos Space Marines. At some point within the next few months…
