Vajiram Sure Shot Mains test series/ mains programme (year long programme)

Hello everyone,

Could you pls review about Vajiram Sure mains programme/test series

how's the evaluation?

How is the mentor support

Question quality?

And the quality of model answers?

Evaluation time?

Feedbacks

Is it worth for the value of 30k ?

Because some other famous institutes are offering the same for 9k-10k..

Is it good to take as a beginner with just exposure to 50-60 answers...(Have done the foundation course but not revised even once also properly except some parts in polity history geography)

How is the gap between the tests and scheduling would it be manageable along with the optional test series?

Finally what mistakes shouldn't I commit while choosing any test series.

And if not this could you pls suggest anything else..

Thanks in advance.

Morgan's evolutionary classification of kinship terminology

While studying Morgan's evolutionary interpretation of kinship terminology, I came across a conceptual difficulty that I have been unable to resolve.

Morgan argued that kinship systems evolved alongside human societies from Savagery → Barbarism → Civilization. He also distinguished between classificatory and descriptive systems.

My confusion is regarding the Eskimo system (associated with Anglo-American societies and often linked to "civilization" in Morgan's scheme).

Morgan describes descriptive systems as those that make specific distinctions between relatives. However, the Eskimo system seems to use only a few basic categories (father, mother, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, cousin), grouping many relatives together. In that sense, it appears less differentiated than systems such as Iroquois, which distinguish parallel and cross cousins.

The Sudanese system creates even more distinctions, often assigning separate terms to many different categories of relatives. In terms of terminological differentiation, it appears more detailed than both Eskimo and Iroquois, yet it does not seem to occupy a corresponding place in Morgan's evolutionary sequence.

This raises a few questions:

If kinship systems are supposed to evolve from simple to complex forms, why is the Eskimo system associated with civilization when it appears less differentiated than Iroquois or Sudanese systems?

How did Morgan classify Eskimo as a descriptive system if many relatives are still grouped under broad categories such as "uncle," "aunt," and "cousin"?

Why did Morgan focus primarily on Hawaiian, Iroquois, and Eskimo systems in constructing his evolutionary sequence while giving relatively little significance to systems such as Sudanese, Crow, and Omaha, which appear equally or even more differentiated?

Was Morgan's classification based on the actual complexity of kinship terminology, or was it based more on his broader evolutionary assumptions about social development?

Is this one of the reasons later anthropologists criticized Morgan's evolutionary interpretation of kinship?

I would appreciate any references to Morgan's original arguments or later anthropological critiques.

If we miss the test can it be written later on? (Like as per the schedule the tests extended till February ending which is most probably we couldn't able to write in February in such cases can we writing it later on)

How is the gap between the tests and scheduling would it be manageable along with the optional test series?

And have little confusion between the coherents, plus, pluses, coupons etc etc..

Finally what mistakes shouldn't I commit while choosing any test series.

And if not this could you pls suggest anything else..

Classical Evolutionism & Social Darwinism

As an anthropology student, I have a conceptual doubt regarding the relationship between Classical Evolutionism and Social Darwinism.

In some lectures, Social Darwinism is presented as a key postulate or component of Classical Evolutionism. However, in several anthropology textbooks and scholarly discussions, it appears to be treated separately—as an application of Darwinian ideas to human societies rather than a core principle of Classical Evolutionism itself.

My question is:

Should Social Darwinism be considered an integral part of Classical Evolutionism in anthropology, or is it more accurate to view it as a separate intellectual development influenced by Darwinian thought?

I would be grateful for references from anthropological literature or insights on how major anthropologists have classified this relationship.
