The most tonsil stones I have ever had at once!!! (I was appalled)

The most tonsil stones I have ever had at once!!! (I was appalled)

For the past 5 days or so, every time I swallowed or likewise, I’ve been have a foreign body feeling in the back of my throat, along with a whiff of that tonsil stones stank (we all know it).

For days I was trying to scrape and push with no avail where I was thinking maybe they were impacted or something. To the point I really scraped up my tonsils with a tooth brush cause my fingers and Q-tips were not doing it.

Then I looked up a tutorial and found a good technique. And what I got out was Oh. My. God. Holy fucking shit. They just kept coming out, one after another. I have always had tonsil stones but at max it would be like 1-3 little nuggets that came out.

I have so much relief not smelling that stank anymore or feeling those little fuckers back there. This literally caused me so much annoyance I went and bought a water flosser with a tonsil cleaning function from a popular dentist online. (Not sure if saying the name would count as advertisement or if that’s a rule in this sub). I’ve always planned to get it but never taken the leap cause it’s spendy, but I finally bit the bullet. It has yet to arrive, but never again will I go through that and have that many in my mouth. I’m sure my breath absolutely STUNK cause it bugged ME even!

P.S sorry I didn’t get a recording I was too busy desperately trying to get them out to think of recording it.

Euthanizing an elderly cat for toileting outside of the litterbox?

I'm likely getting downvoted to hell for this, and I'm absolutely going to hell for this, but I've run out of options. Little background: I've had my cat, Chloe, for 13, almost 14 years. I got her at 6 years old when she was an 8-week-old kitten, and she has been my best friend through everything. And I love her so much. About a year ago, she started having seizure-like episodes and the vet came to the conclusion that for her age and situation, it was likely a brain tumor causing the episodes. No imaging was done since that would've cost up to $5k, and then what? We know what it is, but are we really going to do anything about it? I think not. I don't want to put a 13-year-old cat through brain surgery. The seizures have been progressing, and she is dying. Right now, however, her quality of life is great.

However, this all started last March (03.2026) when she had a UTI. She started peeing everywhere! First, it was one puddle on the floor when I woke up. Then, when I came home, it was on almost every surface. In 6 different spots on the bed, on her stairs to get on the bed, on the cat post, more spots on the floor, on her chair, etc. She had never done this before in her life; she always used the litterbox perfectly. I don't think she had ever gone outside the litterbox. I isolated her until a vet appointment could be made, then a day later she started peeing blood, so I took her to the emergency vet, and it was a UTI, surprise surprise, she was given antibiotics and all was well. Until she started peeing outside the litterbox regularly. At first, it was very few and far in between, and she'd do it with a freshly cleaned litterbox, and she'd do it 6 feet away from the litterbox. She would always pee on any clothes on the ground. Weird. After a couple of times, I took her back in to see if she had another UTI. No Infection. But then it kept progressing. Now those few and far times? Turned to every single time an article of clothing was on the floor. It initially pissed me off, but then I just decided to bite the bullet and stay on top of not having any objects on the floor, apart from cat toys. I've been fantastic about it the last few days. And no issues. Perfect!

Until today. I work in EMS, and we work in 12-hour shifts. I have a 45-minute drive one way, which adds more time to my day, + time for getting ready. Today was a really rough day with a 2-year-old who was ejected from a car that we couldn't get back, and a 10-year-old in Status epilepticus. The only thing I wanted to do when I got back home after getting burned by an hour was crawl into bed and sleep, as I have a shift tonight as well. But upon crawling into bed, I find part of my bed soaked. Absolutely soaked. With guess what? Urine. There weren't any clothes on the floor and she refuses to use the litterbox now, so now she's using my bed as a litterbox. This wasn't just one pee either. I have a lot of blankets on my bed, including a heavy comforter, and it was soaked all the way to the mattress protector. This was, she was peeing in this spot all day.

That was honestly my last straw. I can't deal with it anymore. We have a Litter-Robot with clay litter, a normal one with corn-based litter, I've tried it in different rooms, I've tried it with the lid off, etc. Nothing helps. I can't put her in diapers because I'm at work for over half the day, I can't keep her locked in one room because we don't have the space for it, and when she was isolated in a room from her UTI when she was bleeding everywhere, she went crazy. If I surrender her to a shelter, she's not finding a home due to her history and age so she'll likely be euthanized anyway. Plus, the stress of that alone would likely send her to an early grave. So I honestly think this is the kindest thing for her. No suffering in a shelter. Because I just don't know what else to do. Is it acceptable to put her to sleep for this? What other things have people tried that worked?

Elderly cat will not stop toileting out of the litterbox!!!

Hi y'all, I'm based out of the US, and I have a 13-year-old cat (14 in October), named Chloe. I've had her since she was a kitten, and never in her 13 years has she toileted out of the litterbox before now. But it seems like anytime there's anything left on the floor she'll pee on it. And she keeps jumping on the counter to poop on it. I am at my wits' end >:(

Context: Back in February, she peed on some clothes on the floor (odd, but I accidentally locked her in my room without a litterbox, so I didn't really blame her). Then I came home later that day, found she peed on the floor, on her cat scratcher, on her cat stairs to get on the bed, on the bed multiple times, etc. I secluded her and a litterbox (we have other cats), and she started peeing blood, all in one day. So I took her in and she had a UTI. We also found out she had some Degenerative Disk Disease, arthritis, and fused vertebrae. So we started her on the Solensia injection too. Before that, she always slept, never walked around, had difficulty jumping on the bed, etc. But it's been night and day since, she can go as much as jumping up on the counter, she's running around, etc. But since then, she's also started CONSISTENTLY peeing on any sort of blanket, pillow, or article of clothing left on the floor, without fail. Even if she doesn't really have to go (Noted by how little urine there sometimes is.) Her litterbox is accessible and clean, and she's being treated for her arthritis pain and spinal issues. She was at the vet recently, no UTI, and all her labs look good. No Kidney, liver, or any other renal system is abnormal. She also started pooping on the counter for literally no reason. For some added context to her medical history, she also has some sort of neurological issue (Seizures?); the vet thinks it's a brain tumor that will progressively decrease her Quality of life until it kills her.

My question is, how the fuck do I deal with this? Can I deal with it? I work 12-hour shifts with a 1-hour commute one way, totaling 2 hours of commuting a work day. So due to this, diapers are not a possibility, if they could be kept on at all (she doesn't have a tail). Secluding her to one room is not a possibility.

I don't know what other options I have. I'm living with my mom right now while in college, but me and my boyfriend will be moving out together soon and can't take Chloe with because I can't have her wrecking our new floors and carpet.

I can't rehome her because she's too old and has medical issues, nor do I want to. And I really don't want to euthanize her, but I'm at my wits' end and don't know what else to do. Something please give me some ideas because I'm lost.
