i’m tired, y’all. i’m really, really, really, really tired. i don’t care if this is hot air, i don’t give a shit if nothing will actually come of this, we’ve got a president who’s all but threatening pro-trans groups with death. against the reality that far-right extremist groups are far more of a danger to everyone than trans people ever will be, and trans people are magnitudes more likely to be the targets of violence than the perpetrators

the only question i have is… when will this nightmare end? when will the world stop rapidly regressing, stripping my trans siblings of their rights through pure hatred and actually treat us like people again? what the hell can we do to fix this?

This feels impossible. I’m using a solo Venusaur deck, and while I only have one Mega Venusaur that’s not the problem I’m running into! The past 4 times I’ve even tried starting a streak, the AI’s already geared up to kill my Bulbasaur or Ivysaur within two turns. I’ve tried Charizard Y as well, the AI keeps finding ways around that. Should I accept that I’m just never getting those 12 hourglasses, or is there anything else I can do?

Many of you have probably heard of the disheartening fifth circuit decisions by now. The one where they contradicted previous arguments to say the ten commandments in Texas schools was legal (get me out of here), and their most recent ridiculous overstep in deciding mifepristone couldn’t be given remotely anymore *(get me the hell out of this state i swear to god)*

Me being lesbian and all, I will likely never get pregnant- this only solidifies my decision to be sterilized as soon as possible- but I know the people that will be hurt the most from this are marginalized, disadvantaged people who had comprehensive sex ed withheld from them by our joke of a state government (okay, calming down now) and don’t have the money to travel out of state where abortions are legal, let alone raise the kid if/when they have it.

So here’s the part where I yell to all my spiritual siblings trapped in restrictive red state laws that TELEHEALTH ABORTIONS ARE STILL A THING!!

The recent court decision only restricts mifepristone from being distributed via telehealth. In medication abortions, mifepristone and misoprostol are generally used in tandem, but misoprostol is the drug that actually does the “abortion” part of the abortion, to put it simply. Without mifepristone, one who does a medication abortion may experience residual pregnancy symptoms for longer, but the abortion will still be completed.

All this to say, many telehealth resources have prepared for this, and are already pivoting to either make international sources more available or distributing misoprostol-only pill regimens. Just because they want to make it harder on people to get abortions, doesn’t mean telehealth orgs are just gonna roll over and give up without a fight. Let this be even more fuel to the fire of demanding judicial reform and freedom for people to access the healthcare they need!

About three years ago, I met someone in my college town who used to be in the same student group that I was. He promised me free tutoring for especially hard chemistry courses, and me being a sophomore facing OChem for the first time I obviously accepted. (For reference, I was 19 and he was 26 at the time I met him.) He allowed me into his house, and although he had a girlfriend, he eased me into an increasingly touchy, dependent friendship with him that spiraled into sexual contact before I realized what he’d done to me. He yelled at me after I wanted reassurance after a sexual encounter- he left me alone for hours- and I contacted one of his friends, at which point she told me that this had been a recurring pattern of behavior with him with several women, and that she too had been manipulated by him. I have since blocked him on everything online, and went a long while without having ever seen him or heard from him…

Until now, when I spotted him talking to people at an event having to do with my student organization. Specifically, he was talking to those who had only graduated a couple years ago and were there to watch and support the current members (this is normal for my organization, it is very inter-connected). Even still, he is significantly older than them, and even with my hoping that he was just there to reminisce with them and talk about what it was like in his day, it just hit me that he offers free tutoring to people who are/were in this organization. With that in mind, I am very nervous that someone he talked to could be one of his targets.

In any other scenario, I’d know to leave it be. I can’t make him disappear, and I can’t make people stop interacting with them, whether or not they’re ignorant of what he does. But this is someone whose side hustle is tutoring, and he has a known history of abusing the power differential between him and the students he teaches (even while he was in this organization!) It chills me to the bone knowing that he could very well still be doing this, and at the very least I really don’t want people walking away from interactions with him this man is a decent or professional tutor in any capacity, if I can help it. Furthermore, every one of my friends I’ve spoken to about this- even those who knew him prior- have been in full support of me and recognized that what he did was fucked up and not my fault. With this in mind, should I make an effort to warn those he might’ve spoken to about his behavior?
