Hello! I’m in the process of negotiating an out the door price for a new 2026 Crosstrek Sport hybrid. Since it’s the end of the month, I need to make a decision by today.

First off, I think they may be lowballing me on my trade-in? It’s a 2015 Civic EX-L sedan. Interior is in excellent condition, no electrical problems either. Outside does have some dents, scrapes, and hail damage. Has 2 new tires and 70,400 miles. Minor transmission issue that’s an easy fix. They are offering (AFTER some negotiating) 6k, but Honda offered 8500 and Carvana 9200. I did show them the Honda offer. Should I show them the Carvana one I got as well to see if that helps as all?

The deals I’m tied between (includes trade in and various taxes/fees) are 31,900 for a special ordered blue one OR (and this is why I took an extra day to think about it) 29,600 for a white one they have on the lot. Funny enough, white is maybe my least favorite color, but under 30k for a small SUV hybrid is pretty good, I think. When I expressed interest in a quote for a build, the manager came over and said my car could get them to their next step/quota with the manufacturer for this month, so they really want to sell the white one to me and offered the price above as a “wrong color discount”.

Does this sound like a good deal? Since they said that, and if I DO decide to go with the white even though I‘m not a fan, do you think I could get more, or are they probably already at their limit? I’ve negotiated the blue/built price, but only listened to their white offer without any counters. This is my first time buying a car, so if I'm going to go for a color I'm meh about, I want to make sure it's worth the price and I take full advantage of any desperation they may have.

Any advice is appreciated!
