TSA opened my stepdad’s urn at the airport

This happened like 5 or 6 years ago and I don’t think I’ve really talked about it with anyone.

My stepdad passed away and we were flying to his hometown in Massachusetts for his funeral. My mom was having a really hard time and didn’t want to lose him, so she carried his urn with her (carry on). That was my first time traveling on airplanes in the USA so I didn't really know what to expect.

(For context, we are not from the USA. My mom flew all the way to the USA and paid for his funeral and land so he could be buried in his hometown. We landed in LA then transferred to MA)

When we went through TSA, they stopped us and opened the urn to check his ashes. They were doing it like it was some suspicious drugs or dangerous powder. I thought they could treat him with basic sensitivity and dignity, but the whole experience ended up being really disrespectful and dehumanizing. It's the way they handled him.

I just remember standing there crying watching them go through my stepdad’s ashes while my mom was already grieving. The whole thing was distressing and traumatizing.

I know they have security procedures and everything, I was 15 at the time but it’s been 6 years and I still think about it sometimes. I’ve barely ever talked about it with anyone

This is genuinely one of the reasons I hate tsa and lax.

Got 0 university grant with 20k income?

I'm so confused, I'm a rising junior, just got my financial aid package(super delayed) and I got 0 in university grant. The portal only shows my scholarship which is like 10k and estimated pell grant & seog grant.

Last year my tuition was basically covered, nothing changed from last year. My family doesn't own anything other than our home.

My mom makes 20k and that's all our income. It's crazy how usc wants 82k from me which is more than 4x our income💀💀

Just contacted them but i don't expect them to respond until the semester begins, it's so delayed this year. Does anyone have a similar experience?

Back on May 1st, I heard back from a local healthcare system that pays around 16 an hour for an IT internship. I live in a MCOL state. I thought I wouldn't have anything for the summer so why not take the internship, accepted it and completed almost all the onboarding process. At the time I got rejected or ghosted from all the internships I applied to as a sophomore.

However, a week from that on, two other companies that are hiring electrical engineering interns called me back for next rounds of interviews. One company is doing safety compliance, another is in the energy sector. I feel like those internships pay better than my current one and have a better chance of getting me a future job. I feel like I will grow more as an electrical engineer in those internships. I was questioning if I should keep on interviewing or just withdraw from all other applications.

I feel really guilty about reneging when the IT internship is about to start two weeks from now. But on the contract they said I can go anytime and they can let me go at any time. Should I keep on interviewing or straight up telling the other two companies that I'd like to work with them but I have other commitments. I'd like to hear you guys opinion
