Their favorite rock

parkour. PARKOUR. My enclosure is pretty big with a lot of places to hide but they just love to be under/on this rock. Maybe it’s cooler and more moist. Maybe they’re cosplaying Alex Honnold.

Pls. My plants are so tired

I was warned that they will nibble on plants but holy hell… theyre munching non-stop. I collected so much wood and leaves but all they wanna do is munch on moss and plants.

They have a buffet line every night on my creeping fig. They also ate through the entire stem and severed a whole plant from its root last week.

I guess whatever it takes to keep my babies happy

help with ID pls

Thanks for your time slash help.

Are these bad boys springtails (they dont look like it). I think it came with the moss i collected. My white springtails have mostly outcompeted them in my springtail culture but they’re starting to multiply in my isopod bin.

Need some advice for quantifying hydroxyl content of poly(vinyl) alcohol and determining if I have a blend

Thanks in advance for your time/help.

There are many patents (mostly from early 2000s) disclosing how poly(vinyl) alcohol (PVA) can be made melt-processable by blending fully hydrolyzed PVA with partially hydrolyzed PVA and using a specific blend of solid and liquid plasticizers.

I am working with recycled PVA (I recover them from film). I have no issue with the plasticizer system but am having trouble with the degree of hydrolysis of PVA.

I have been using H-NMR to quantify the amount of hydroxyl and acetate groups in my material, but this only gives me an average. Is there any good way to know if i have a blend of two polymers (fully hydrolyzed and partially hydrolyzed)?
