Speed issues with external SSD (Enclosure) on my Macbook M4
I bought an enclosure (UGREEN 20Gbps M.2 NVMe/SATA Dual-Protocol Enclosure (Model 55150)) so I can use my SSD as storage. However the speed is extremely slow and it is freezing non-stop when I try to transfer files, even small ones.
I have tried using the SSD+Enclosure on my windows desktop and it works flawlessly but it is barely functioning on my Macbook M4 Pro. I have tried 3 SSDs (Intel 660p, Samsung 860 Evo Pro & WD_Black 850X and all of them have the same issue. All of them were formatted to APFS (and even during formatting it took 5 minutes to format). I also have tried different USB-C cables and all had the same issue on my Macbook meanwhile they have great speeds on my Windows laptop or desktop.
Is there something I am not aware of? I also have a normal external HDD and when I copy files to my macbook, the speed is fine, but the SSD (with enclosure) is terrible and unusable on my Macbook while it works fine on my windows laptop.
