Price quoted above is what I've paid for all of these items. Repainting The Rear Suspension In Preparation for the New Shocks

https://preview.redd.it/r8dfe31u536h1.jpg?width=486&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2d19e91c01144806347331fd489ef901a2a02168

Over the weekend, I took time out to clean and prep the rear of the van in preparation for the new shock install tomorrow morning. The old shocks have seen better day and it didn't matter then I got some overspray in the crappy shock bodies. But once the new shocks are on, I'll be a bit more careful cleaning and detailing under the van. if one looks closer at the lower shock mount, they should see that we've been running these 66608 shocks with a cold rolled steel tubes and thick washers just to keep the shocks centered between the upper and lower shock mounts.

painted the lower half of the 66608 shocks yellow 2 weeks ago.

This will all change tomorrow as we'll be installing a set of the Heim joint spacers specially designed for this set up. If all goes well, we may start to offer a complete rear kit that includes the coil springs, shocks and the heim joint spacers. Speak up if you're interested in one of these rear lowering kits for your 2019-2023 Transit Connect. Cost of this kit has yet to be determined.

Stay Tuned..

Upgrade: Misalignment Spacer & new Shocks Installed Tue

We hired a company out of Washington State who designs and manufactures Misaligned spacers for heim joints. if you do not know what Heim joint is, it's a ball bearing with a large hole in the center typically used for off roading that allows the endlinks fluent motion and articulation during movement.

https://preview.redd.it/k4q31o7unq5h1.jpg?width=455&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e655be7cf1f700a22ccd056f8fe3946d37d1d56

We asked this company to design a 3/4 x M12 x 40mm & a 3/4 x M12 X 60mm misaligned spacers that we can use on our new Monroe magnum 66608 (Class 3) Truck shocks. If successfully installed on the van we will report back with images and the results. Currently we've been running the same 66608 shocks with cold rolled steel tubes and thick washers which fails after a few months. These new misaligned spacers will help center and adjust the shocks to the mounting potions using the factory M12 bolts. There's shouldn't be any more knocking or shock movement around the steel tubes after this installation.

Once we conclude that this works, we may offer a complete rear lowering kit for the 2029-2023 Transit Connect. This kits includes:

  • 20% stiffer & 2'' shorter rear lowering springs (Gunmetal Grey or Black)
  • ( 2 ) Monroe Magnum 66608 (class 3) truck shocks (Black shock Bodies)
  • ( 6 ) 40mm Heim Joint spacers
  • ( 2 ) 60mm Heim Joint spacers
  • Cost of the kit has yet to be determined

This kit would utilize the factory shock mount bolts.

Important Discovery: Van Shuts Off For No Reason

I've heard others say that their van simply shuts off without reason even if the start stop system has been deactivated. Turns out after 5 years of diving our van, Our system shut off to.. But here's what happen. driving through town we came up to a stop light and because i have long legs, my right leg slipped while I was trying to get more comfortable. Turns out my knee just tapped the FOB which was in the ignition (without turning the key) that small giggle cause the van to shut down. best remove any extra weight or any attached key chain from the FOB which can cause the van to simply shut down due to the extra weight on the FOB while in the ignition. All it takes is a small nudge of the FOB while in the ignition switch for the van to shut down.
