Scammer not only spams but publicizes email addresses

This one is a giveaway on so many levels. Obvious.

Unfortunately for users on her long list, email addresses (including mine) are public to every one else on this lengthy “to” list. Going to create a new alias.

Excellent resource for finding ancestors in Luxembourg and surrounding areas

https://www.luxroots.org/ is awesome. There is a fee, currently USD 26.50 (23€) per year. Its a great price. Their data is not available to feed databases, websites, or genealogical works for third parties which go beyond the genealogical research of the subscriber's family. I do not post any screenshots to other websites. I do create appropriate citations for reference. You can also access other regional sites (such as Matricula) through Luxroots.

Alternative to Mac Messenger?

I am completely fed up with Mac Messaging and not being able to send messages to Android users. It is a recurring issue but seems to be currently unreparable - have gone through all the troubleshooting steps more than once but I can only send messages to my Android using friends on my iPhone.

Not iPad.

Not MacBook.

Not Studio.

All devices are up to date.

I would appreciate solutions/recomendations for replacements.

And curious if there Is there such a thing as an app that encompasses multiple messaging systems?

Customize Source Template in Mac Family Tree

Someone here asked me a while ago how I created a custom template in Mac Family Tree. I do not like filling out individual fields when I have the complete formatted citations waiting for me in Zotero and Notion.

  • Click Manage Available Fields, then click Add Template Field.
    1. You are creating a new field so call it SIMPLE CITATION or something meaningful for you.
    2. Give it a Gedcom tag if you want
    3. Click Done
  • You should be back at editing Source Templates
    1. Add field Title
    2. Add field you just created.
    3. Click Done

Go back to your tree and when ever you want to use this template, just select it!!!

Family tree gives you well formatted reference citations on every page so you can copy/paste those, for example.

Here is an image link.

Having issues connecting one computer

I installed notion and connected it with my Zotero database via Notero. I had it working on four devices. I had issues where I accidentally deleted a field in Notion, and disconnected from Zotero Notero connector while I fixed the DB. Now I cannot reconnect to Notion. The token pops up quickly, then goes to white screen with An error occurred...Invalid grant.

I was able to capture the token but this is result..I do not know where to go from here. MacOS.

Help!?

Do you have pre-Revolutionary and Revolutionary War era Mennonite and Huguenot Ancestors?

My maternal grandfather's ancestors were mostly Mennonites from Switzerland and Germany along with some French Huguenots who fled religious persecution during the late 1600's and early 1700's. We have a tremendous number of sourced papers and books which contain genealogical information from many or most of the better known families, the areas they came from, and the conditions they faced. Years of cumulative work has gone into compiling these sources and creating citations for each one. As you will see, it is is still a work in process, but I invite you to access our Metz Family Research Library online and also to send to us any sources for books, documents or papers we don't have represented. We have decided to share our work with a wider audience who may find it useful. This library is a work in progress as I am locating sources for much of the information we have collected. Please comment then PM me.

Some of the names we have represented are Aebi (Äbi, Eby ), Bär (Bar, Bear), Gut (Good, Guth), etc etc. If you have any connections with these families and/or our Metz ancestors, we are probably cousins!!!

We would love to hear from you.

I made a Zotero linked genealogical library with a graphic interface

I have used Zotero for years both professionally and personally. But it isn't the best for sharing. So I decided on Notion for sharing with other family genealogists.
