Setting up an iPad for a kid when you only have an Android is an absolute nightmare loop. Help?

Hey everyone,

Just need to vent and see if anyone has a simple fix for this because I'm getting incredibly frustrated.

I'm an Android user trying to set up an iPad for a kid. Since I don't have an iPhone, this process is an absolute joke. I'm trying to create a child account/parental controls directly on the iPad setup screen, but it keeps getting stuck in this endless loop.

Every time I try to do "Connect without another device" or "Connect with email," it panics and demands a nearby Apple device to authorize it. I literally had to go onto my Android browser just to make an adult Apple ID for myself so I could be the "parent," but the iPad setup screen still won't let me just create the kid's account without looping back to the "bring a nearby device close"

screen.

Has anyone actually found a straightforward way to bypass this loop and get a child account active on a standalone iPad? Appreciate any help, trying to keep it simple
