Clutch Replacement: DIY vs Mechanic?

Context: 2016 WRX Premium with ~69.5K miles clutch slipping

Parts Ordered:

  • ACT HD Street clutch kit
  • Versus Forged Clutch Fork
  • Torque Solution billet clutch fork pivot
  • Perrin Braided Stainless Clutch Line
  • COBB Shifter Bushing
  • OEM flywheel bolts and clutch bolts
  • OEM Rear Main Seal
  • Trans Axle Seals
  • Trans Output oil seal
  • Rear Diff Seals

So for the clutch change I am being quoted by my local mechanic roughly $1000-$1200 for labor (very reasonable in my opinion). I wanted to ask how difficult it actually is to do the work myself? While videos have made it seem like and intermediate to advanced, I wanted to hear some more input from the sub. More then willing to get a trans jack from harbor freight and other tools that might be needed.

I've never worked on a transmission before myself and don't have any friends that are knowledgeable to help (well friends in general but that is a separate issue lol)
