My MIL rearranges my kitchen every single time she visits. Not just one or two things either, she moves the mugs, utensils, spices, plates, basically anything she thinks would be “more convenient” somewhere else.

I’ve politely asked her several times to stop because it drives me crazy having to search for things in my own kitchen. Last weekend, she came over and did it again while I was in another room. I finally got frustrated and told her,to stop changing things around. that this is my kitchen, and I want things where I put them. She got offended and said she was only trying to help and that I was being ungrateful. My partner thinks I could’ve handled it more gently, but I feel like I’ve already asked nicely multiple times.

Am I overreacting?
