Help! 🤕 Still waking 2x a night on Solifenacin + Betmiga. Has anyone switched and actually slept through?

TL;DR: Solifenacin + Betmiga worked great for my OAB at first, but after a few months, the effect faded to "moderate." I'm still waking up 2–3 times a night (and cluster-peeing between 5–7 AM), which destroys my sleep. Looking to see if anyone successfully switched to a different OAB medication!

Hey everyone,

Looking for experiences or advice from anyone who used Solifenacin (Vesicare) and Betmiga (Mirabegron) together.
My Situation & Symptoms:

  • Diagnosis: OAB + Moderate Sleep Apnea (CPAP sensitive, couldn't tolerate it).
  • Current Meds: Solifenacin + Betmiga daily (+ Macrogol for the constipation side effect).
  • The Main Issue: Sleep disruption. I still wake up 2–3 times every night/early morning to urinate.
  • Morning Cluster Peeing: Around 5 AM – 7 AM, I often have to make 2 separate trips to the bathroom within a short window. This fully wakes my brain up and ruins my chances of getting back to sleep.
  • Flare-ups: Occasionally I get sudden flare-ups where I have to pee 5–10 times right before bed with very small volume each time.

The Medication Problem:

When I first started Solifenacin + Betmiga, the effect was massive (it even took me 30 minutes just to initiate stream because my bladder relaxed so much). But after a few months, the effect dropped from "huge" to just "moderate." It helps, but not enough to give me consistent sleep.

My Questions for You:

  1. Has anyone noticed Solifenacin/Betmiga losing effectiveness over time?
  2. Did you switch to a different medication? Did a switch make a big difference?
  3. How do you handle early morning "cluster peeing" that keeps waking you up?

Appreciate any insights or personal experiences!

[Hiring] Beginner Video Editor for YouTube — $5/hour starting, recurring work

Looking for a reliable and coachable video editor for simple YouTube videos made from my Twitch streams.

The content is mostly me reading/reacting to interesting Reddit posts. Your main job would be:

  • Cut dead air, repetition, mistakes and boring/low-energy parts
  • Turn each good Reddit segment into a clean, watchable video
  • Find a good hook/opening when possible
  • Basic zooms, memes, GIFs, subtitles, etc. are welcome if you think they improve the video, but not required

I edit myself in Final Cut Pro, so I can explain the workflow and help you. You can use any editing software you want, and using AI to make the work faster/easier is completely fine.

Pay: Starting at $5/hour. First task will be a paid 1-hour trial: I give you footage and we see what you can produce in exactly one hour. Please don’t work beyond the agreed time.

If we work well together, this can become regular/long-term work and the rate can increase to $10/hour or more based on quality and reliability.

Usually I’d like work finished within 1–2 days. Good English comprehension is important.

If interested, DM me:

  • Your editing experience
  • Software you use
  • Time zone/availability
  • Any previous editing work if you have it

Beginners are welcome. Reliability and willingness to learn matter more to me than having a professional portfolio.

Would you swap a sorted 2010 Prius for a 2012 Volt with 257,000 miles (414,000 km)?

Hi all!

https://preview.redd.it/quq5w4ibw1ah1.png?width=1688&format=png&auto=webp&s=d9764fc9f7c4ae7603fdb7e1830095578ef0711d

I could really use some advice from people who know these cars.

I currently own a 2010 Prius. After a lot of repairs, it's now mechanically solid. The HV battery, engine, and ABS have all been replaced, so I know the car is reliable now. It's cosmetically rough, but mechanically it's in good shape.

I recently found someone who wants to swap their 2012 Chevrolet Volt Premium for my Prius. They got the Volt from someone who owed them money, but they actually wanted a Prius, so the swap works for both of us.

Here's my concern: the Volt has 414,000 km (257,000 miles).

The owner says it still gets around 50-55 km (31-34 miles) of electric range, which sounds pretty good. Before making any decision, I'll definitely:

  • Test drive it.
  • Have a mechanic scan it for error codes.
  • Check the HV battery and general mechanical condition.
  • Make sure it looks like it has actually been maintained.

But after my experience buying my Prius in a hurry, I'm trying not to make the same mistake again.

Are there any common high-mileage Volt problems that a normal inspection might miss? Things that typically fail around 250k+ miles? Anything specific I should ask the mechanic to check?

I live in Eastern Europe, where Prius parts are everywhere and repairs are relatively cheap. Volts are much rarer here, so I'm also wondering if I'm setting myself up for expensive repairs later.

Another option is to simply sell my Prius and add about $1,500-2,000 to buy a lower-mileage Volt instead.

So if you were in my position, would you:

  • Make the swap?
  • Keep the Prius?
  • Sell the Prius and spend a little more for a lower-mileage Volt?

I'd really appreciate any advice, especially from owners with high-mileage Volts. (Dashboard photo attached.)

Reliable? - Maybe. Simple? - No!

I bought a 2010 Prius for about $3,000 in Eastern Europe because parts are relatively cheap, and everyone says Gen 3s are reliable if you just watch out for the ABS and HV battery.

Mine already had a replacement battery, so I replaced the ABS pump and thought I was good to go.

Then I took it on a family road trip. Around town it was perfect, but on the highway the engine started misfiring badly. The head gasket had failed, and I ended up paying for a tow truck, renting another car, and eventually replacing the entire engine.

That wasn't the end of it. I also had to replace the engine coolant pump, the heater core (because a clogged one can apparently affect coolant circulation), the 12V battery, the ABS electronic module after the hazard lights started flashing constantly, and some steering wheel parts. In total, I spent around another $2,000 on repairs (Eastern Europe prices, where labor and parts are much cheaper than in many countries).

Looking back, this was my mistake. I was in a hurry and only had the hybrid battery checked before buying the car. I couldn't afford a newer Prius, so I bought a cheap, high-mileage one without a thorough inspection. It turned out to be a tired car with a lot of worn-out parts.

My advice: don't buy a used Prius, or any used car, in a hurry. Have everything inspected, not just the battery. It might save you thousands of dollars, a lot of stress, and weeks of inconvenience.

I still think a well-maintained Prius is a great car, but my experience with this high-mileage Gen 3 was much worse than I expected.
