Operator randomly changing?

Anybody else noticed this? Just seems to be since the last update but it's annoying as hell.

Ok so I'd love to get some opinions here on an AC problem we are having.

We have a 2 unit system, one for upstairs and one for downstairs (House is about 3000 sq ft). It is about 6 years old and is a Carrier system installed with the house.

Background to this is last year in May we had a compressor blowout on the bigger downstairs system. It was replaced and the system has been fine ever since.

Fast forward to earlier this week and I noticed that the downstairs system was taking much longer than usual to drop down by 2 degrees.

We usually run at 74 during the day and 72 at night this is scheduled and we rarely need to change it. Ordinarily it will take maybe 20 minutes at most to drop 2 degrees, and now it was not getting down to temp after an hour or more. The condenser outside was still running and nothing seemed amiss, but on the indoor unit the drip pan was pretty full and water was dripping out of where the air handler/coil unit meets the ducting.

Now it WAS eventually reaching the set temp (72 from 74), it was just taking hours to do so.

I called the AC folks and they sent out a tech who, on Tuesday, diagnosed that there was a loss of pressure in the system and put it down to a coil having gone bad. Installers arrived next day with the new coil, installed it but couldn't pull a vacuum down to 500 microns.

(As an aside they also spilled the contents of the drip pan into our attic insulation/drywall and had to get out a drying company who then had to cut a hole in our ceiling and rig up a dehumidifier to pull all the water out 😞)

They returned yesterday with another tech and determined there was a leak in the lineset which they isolated and repaired. They left last evening about 8pm saying everything was working fine and passing all diagnostics etc.

They had set the temp to 66 to get it running (it was reading 75 in the room) and it dropped to 74 within about 20-30 minutes. I then set it to 72 as that was the desired sleep temp but it just sat at 74, running constantly. It finally hit 72 sometime between 1am and 3am this morning.

We have a tech coming out again today but I'd be really interested if anyone has any theories about this.

Another issue in this is that I noticed our thermostat (a Honeywell TH6110D1021/U) when set to a lower temp will read that lower temp fairly quickly but then suddenly jump back up by a couple of degrees. All while the actual temperature in that area hasn't changed (verified by a separate digital thermometer). Up until this recent episode this has been very reliable and I have never seen any of this erratic jumping around from the temperature read before. It points to a faulty sensor but does it have any bearing on the bigger problem we are facing with the system not getting the temp down?

Just for comparison, our upstairs system is working just fine. Set it to 73 and it drops down from 75 to there in about 20-25 minutes.

Sorry for the wall of text on this but I'd sure appreciate any thoughts and opinions on what is going on here.

I'm posting up my experience with this in the hope that somewhere down the line this helps someone else.

TLDR: If you need to merge accounts or do anything else with credit card earned avios and club accounts, message the Avois Whatsapp Support service at +44 (0)203 830 0527

So I had a BA Executive Club account for a number of years but never flew BA too much. About 3 years ago we moved to the US and the only direct flights from my city back to the UK are with BA. So a few months ago I took out a BA Credit Card to start collecting points for our regular trips back to the UK.

I have been using the card regularly since but went to book a flight the other day and noticed that my points balance has not increased despite my card statement showing I have earned over 96000 points.

I logged onto my BA club account and there is no mention of a card being linked to it, and my card account does not show the BA club account number it is linked to (REALLY helpful). I couldn't find anyone who could help resolve it on the Chase side. They couldn't even tell me what account number the earned points were being credited to!

I contacted The BA club who said that they could see two accounts but that they would send me a recovery link to the other account so I could log into it. Then I could contact them via Whatsapp to ask for the accounts to be merged.

However when the link arrived, it didn't work. I suspect this is because both accounts were under the same email address (how does that even happen!). Fortunately I had asked for the number for the Whatsapp service so I contacted them directly by Whatsapp message and after giving them id verification info they had my accounts merged and my points balance updated without about 90 seconds.

So, my advice fwiw is to just go straight to the Avois Whatsapp service. You can chat with a real person and they really seem to know what they are doing. A+ would use again.
