If you haven't seen them already, Alister Barry is a kiwi documentarian who has created some of my favourite local films. His film A Civilised Society is an incredible watch - it's the history of the Tomorrow's Schools reforms in the Lange/Douglas Labour Govt. Amazing parallels with what's happening now. If fact, you could almost say that the neoliberal right wing has just executed almost the same strategy that Douglas and his neolib disciples used in the 80s and 90s. Wild that they essentially staged a 'soft' coup de tat to gain control of the Labour Party, which you could argue has happened with ACT and NZF taking full control of the coalition.

Anyway, if you have the time, please watch - if we ignore the lessons of history, we are doomed to repeat them!

Man, did anyone else feel like that was a super serious injury and they were kind of trying to dance around it on the coverage. It looked just like the Eli Katoa one and he had to have brain surgery ffs.

So sending some super positive energy towards Wallace and the whole Sititi whānau tonight. Hope he’s ok.

Edit: positive vibes to the reds’ Lukhan Salakaia-Loto and the chiefs’ Sione Ahio. But especially LSL - pretty heartbreaking watching him looking back at the field. He clearly felt like shit. Hope they’re ok too.
