Used exhausts: good deal or potential headache?

Ciao guys!! I’m currently looking at some used exhausts on Subito ( Italian website that we can compare to eBay), and I’m wondering what people’s experience is with buying exhausts second-hand.

There seem to be some really good deals, or at least they look like good deals to me... 😅

For example, I’ve found an Akrapovic Racing exhaust with only 4 months of use for around €500, which seems pretty good compared to the price of a new one...

Obviously, I know there could be some stuff going on that you can’t really see from the pictures. Some listings actually say the exhaust has been slightly damaged from a fall, while others do not claim anything

What do you guys think?

  • Have you bought a used exhaust before?
  • What should I check carefully before buying? (Online i guess because some listings are in anotehr city)

I’d love to hear some real-world experiences before I pull the trigger. Thanks!

Thinking about starting a detailing business in Rome. Looking for advices!!

Hi everyone,

First of all, it's a pleasure to meet u all, enthusiasts. I have been into the world of "having a passion for detailing(?)" for years now; it all started with some AmmoNYC videos on YT, and then I started deep cleaning all my mopeds and then motorbikes/car for a while and started thinking seriously about turning my passion into something more.

I'm from Rome, Italy, and I'm considering starting a small detailing business here. I'm a huge motorcycle enthusiast, probably even more than cars, but I would obviously work on both.

I would like to create a small detailing studio focused on quality, attention to detail (duh), and treating every vehicle like something special, but of course I have a "normal" job which keeps me occupied 5 to 7 for like 11hrs a day... so my initial plan would 100% be to start small:

  • investing in proper equipment;
  • Probably mobile at the beginning;
  • building a portfolio through before/after social media content; even trading, you know, I'm gonna deep clean your bike for free if you allow me to do content on it and then starting to grow (hopefully) a social media presence, therefore slowly creating a customer base before committing to a physical location.

Eventually, my dream would be a small dedicated space, maybe something like a two-car garage, where I can work comfortably around the vehicles and create a proper detailing environment.

My biggest doubt is the market. I'm pretty sure that on this subreddit a good percentage of u is from the US; the US seems to have a huge detailing culture, while in Italy people are generally more price-sensitive (because we are poor, I guess). At the same time, there are many motorcycle (and car, but mainly bike) enthustiasts here who spend a lot on their vehicles, so I wonder if there is room for a premium detailing service... but that's not the point; what I'm asking is...for those of you who have started your own detailing business:

  • Would you recommend starting mobile/part-time first?
  • What mistakes did you make when you started?
  • How long did it take before you had enough clients to consider it a real business?
  • What would you do differently if you had to start again?

I know every market is different, but I would really appreciate hearing your experiences. I don't really care about making money, to be fair; I just think that detailing bikes and cars would be something I'd love to do and that would really make me go to work happy... you know.

Thanks!

Inter Milan KitDDM review

I bought this shirt about a month ago. The first version I received (last picture) was completely off. The Position of the inter logo was wrong, the black and blue stripes were way too wide, and overall it just didn’t look very accurate.

I contacted customer support, and to their credit they told me they had experienced some quality control issues during the Club World Cup period. They offered to send me a revised version free of charge, and that’s the one you can see in the other pictures.

It is definitely an improvement, but there are still a few inaccuracies. The Scudetto is positioned too low in real life it lines up with the Nike and Inter logos, whereas here’s too low, same with the Coppa Italia patch is also placed too low and should be higher on the chest.

Another thing I wasn’t too happy about (although this was my first order from this seller, so I’m not sure if it’s normal) was the way the shirt arrived. The heat-pressed logos had stuck to other parts of the shirt during shipping. For example, the Inter crest was literally stuck to the back of the jersey, and the rear sponsor had stuck to the front. I had to carefully peel everything apart before I could even wear it.

Thankfully, I managed to separate everything without major damage, and the shirt is wearable now, but it did leave a few marks. There’s now a visible line across the Scudetto, and the Inter crest also shows some signs where it had been stuck.

For comparison, I’ve always bought my shirts from MineJerseys and in my experience their quality has been a bit more consistent. That said, I really have to give Kit DDM credit for their customer service!! they were fantastic and immediately sent me a replacement at no cost. Unfortunately, while the second shirt is much better than the first, the overall quality still isn’t quite what I was hoping for.

Thoughts on taller windscreens

Ciao guys,

I own an RS660, and I was looking for windscreens since with the standard one I get quite a lot of wind on my head and upper body and especially on the highway it's a bit frustrating at times.

I was looking at WRS or Puig, which states that through testing in CFD, there's evidence that it deflects the wind that otherwise would hit the rider’s helmet and shoulders... is it true tho??
Any of you who have a taller windscreen can tell me if there's a real benefit from having it installed compared to the stock one?

I'm asking because you know, I'd rather spend 100€ on another part of the bike if I had to, and I don't really like the look of the taller ones, such as the R-Racer Screen from Puig... but if it is worth it and actually has an effect... I'm probably going to get it.
