Wednesday update from Jake and Paris

For those that are not signed up for emails -

To our Sangin community,

First, we owe you guys an apology. It’s been a while since we have sent a note out to the entire community.

The truth is, we’ve had our heads down working on timepieces. Production, assembly, QC, waitlists, custom projects, new team members. It’s been full speed for a while now. That’s a good problem to have, but I also don’t want the work itself to become the reason we stop communicating with the people who made all of this possible.

So before anything else, thank you.

Sangin has grown because you guys wear these watches, take them around the world, beat them up, tell your friends about them, and come back for the next one. We don’t take that lightly, and we appreciate the patience you’ve shown us as we’ve worked through some pretty significant growth.

With that, I wanted to give you a look at where we’re headed for the remainder of the year and explain a little more about how releases and product availability have been working.

Production timelines can always move, but we’d rather give you our best look ahead and communicate when something changes. We’ll continue posting updates to our Updates Page as each release gets closer and dates are confirmed.

Tentative 2026 Release Schedule
August — Merlin
September — Neptune
October — Atlas
November — Kinetic II Titanium
December — Professional, Kinetic II & Hydra

So, where have the drops been?

You’ve probably noticed we haven’t been doing many traditional drops this year.

That isn’t because we’ve stopped focusing on our general release models. Quite the opposite. We’ve been working through the waitlists, with a large portion of our inventory going to people who have already been waiting months, and in some cases years.

We felt that was the fairest way to do it. If someone has been waiting that long for a watch, we don’t think they should also have to race through checkout and hope they beat a sellout by a few seconds.

How do the waitlists work?

Private Access is sent in chronological order based on when you joined the waitlist.

The goal is simple: take care of the people who have been waiting first and keep moving through the list as more timepieces become available.

The waitlists also help us understand demand and determine production numbers for future cycles. For the last few years, our biggest constraint has simply been capacity. The Sangin community grew faster than our ability to build watches without compromising the quality, service, and warranty support you guys deserve, and we weren’t willing to sacrifice any of those just to put more watches out the door.

We’re finally in a position to start expanding that production capacity the right way.

Looking Ahead

If you’re already on one of these waitlists, these upcoming releases are our next opportunities to keep working through them. If you’re not on the list yet, get on it.

We’ve added two more watch technicians to the team and are beginning to move our core models from annual production cycles toward quarterly runs. That means more watches, more Private Access opportunities, and more chances throughout the year to get the piece you’ve been waiting for.

The sooner you’re on the list, the sooner your place comes up.

Our goal is to keep expanding production the right way, take care of the people who have already been waiting, and make Sangin more available without changing what makes Sangin what it is.

Again, thank you for the patience, the support, and for continuing to give us the opportunity to build these watches for you.

We’ve been busy, but it’s because you guys have kept us busy, and we’re incredibly grateful for that.

With You,
Jake & Paris

Traveling Sangin Sign Up

I’m bringing the Traveling Sangin back around and finally putting a proper signup list together.

For anyone who hasn’t seen it before, this is one of my personal Solar Merlins that has been traveling from member to member since 2022. It gets sent out with a case and a few straps, you wear it for a couple weeks, take it places, snap some photos, and then send it along to the next person.

It’s already made a few laps around the country, and now I want to get the next group of hosts lined up.

If you’re interested in having the Traveling Sangin make a stop with you, please fill out the form below:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfXeSlYJxI6BvuoJBqgs5hZcLdlpDXbow20QoBror-ULqtLQA/viewform?usp=publish-editor

A couple quick notes:

  • Filling it out puts you in the pool. It doesn’t guarantee selection or determine the order.
  • Some hosts may be picked randomly, and some may get picked because they’ve got a particularly cool place or idea for where to take it.
  • If you’ve been on one of my older lists, I’d still appreciate you filling this out so I have current info and can keep everything in one place.
  • Your contact and shipping information stays private and is only used to coordinate the watch.

The whole point is to keep this thing moving, get it into the hands of more members, and hopefully collect some great stories and photos along the way.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’d take that thing somewhere ridiculous,” this is probably your chance.

Wednesday update - SOG vs SOG

Its Wednesday.... I have to look productive...here is some information that I got partially cleared..... Ill send this out in an email and to the other socials…

I've seen a little confusion about the Sangin Owners Group on Facebook versus the Sangin Owners Group on the website, so I figured I'd clear things up before somebody starts making conspiracy charts with red string.
The Facebook SOG isn't going anywhere.

This group is still the community. It's where we connect with eachother. Where we joke, argue about bezel alignment, post #FlexFriday pictures, organize meetups, accidentally spend each other's money, and generally make poor financial decisions together.

The Owners Group on the Sangin website serves a completely different purpose.
Think of it as the home base. It’s how Sangin connects with you. The company’s VIP List.

Right now, its how we send SOG community exclusive updates, first look at release schedule, access to the SOG Vault, and we’re also testing out using this registered list as a way to grant priority access for releases. Think of it as a “fast pass” for skipping the line on waitlists for releases. But only if you’re officially registered. More to come on this.

Eventually, we plan for this to be a place where you'll be able to:

  • Register your watches.
  • View serial numbers.
  • Verify authenticity of sellers.
  • Keep track of purchase history.
  • Participate in future website-based community features.

It’s also a way to join the community even for those who don’t use Facebook.
That's a big one.

Not everyone wants a Facebook account (some people escaped and we'd rather not force them back), so we're building a place where every Sangin owner can be part of the community regardless of where they spend their time online.

I know some of you that are Sangin owners but did not purchase directly from the brand have been bummed you can’t access the SOG Vault yet. We're currently working through ways to recognize watches that were purchased secondhand. Right now those purchases won't automatically appear in your account history, but we know that's important and we're already looking at solutions. Registering through the site helps us identify how many Sangin Owners are second hand vs purchased directly, and get in touch with secondhand owners directly with solutions once they are in place.

One thing we'd also love to build over time is some sort of badge or recognition for longtime community members. The Facebook group has years of history behind it, and that's something worth celebrating, not replacing.

So here's the favor I'm asking:

Even if you've been in this Facebook group since the beginning...
Please take two minutes and register on the website.

https://sangininstruments.com/pages/sangin-owners-group

This helps us:

  • Make sure you're on the SOG mailing list.
  • Build the official owner registry.
  • Support owners who aren't on social media.
  • Keep everyone informed.
  • Provide VIP access to our community members.
  • Create better tools and features for everyone down the road.

Whether you found Sangin through Facebook, Reddit, LinkedIn, Instagram, or because a friend irresponsibly let you try on their watch...we want everyone under the same roof.

The Facebook SOG is still the neighborhood.
The website Owners Group is becoming the address book.
We're just trying to make sure nobody gets left behind.

Love you guys.
If you don't register, I can't legally say I will show up at your house and stare disappointedly through your front window...but just know I might….

Community Manager Announcement - From Facebook

I will be making an effort to be more present here....please let me know what I can try and help with...

Well... it's out there.

The first official production update from my shiny new Sangin email address has officially escaped into the wild.

If you're subscribed, go give your inbox a look. If it's not there, check again.

Here are the highlights:

Current (tentative) production schedule:

  • Mid-Aug: Neptune Specialty pre-orders begin shipping
  • Late Aug: Merlin
  • September: Neptune General Release
  • October: Atlas III
  • November: Kinetic II Titanium
  • December: Small batches of Hydra, Kinetic, and Professional models

A couple things worth mentioning:

  • This schedule is tentative. I'd rather share what the current plan looks like and keep everyone updated as things evolve than disappear for three months and magically reappear with a release announcement.
  • I'm not building watches. Trust me, nobody wants me anywhere near tiny springs, tweezers, or movements. My job is to get you accurate information from the people who actually do the hard work.
  • If I can sprinkle in some behind-the-scenes details, explain why things are happening, and answer questions before they become internet folklore... I'd call that a successful day.

One thing that didn't make the email...

This community is honestly one of the biggest reasons I was lured into this role. I've spent years here watching members help complete strangers, welcome new owners, organize meetups, trade stories and bust balls.

I'd really like to keep it that way.
