Keeps seeing third gens, so I’m chiming in. Next race is later this month, I hope to have onboard footage of it.

The car I found is in very bad condition and i am thinking crazy buying it but i am afraid that I won’t be able to find the parts that she needs also I have no idea what celica model is this car and what is the stock cc,hp and so on
So any help teaching me about her will be appreciated. ❤️

The Toyota pro/celebrity race was an annual race sponsored by Toyota that ran from 1977-2016 featuring race prepped factory Toyota vehicles and pitting celebrities of all varieties- Hollywood stars, singers, public personalities against racing legends. This particular example was prepped by Parnelli Jones race shop and Driven by racing legend Dan Gurney in 1985. This same car went on to be used as a training car at the willow springs driving school where it was scheduled to be sent to a wrecking yard before a keen eyed employee saved this little piece of history.

This is my 1983 junkyard save Celica. Installed a ported, polished, oversized valves, balanced 22R and a full T3 suspension under her. Is it fast? Not really. Is it way more fun than it should be throwing it around at autocross? ABSOLUTELY! I want to hear about your Celica’s (bonus points for action shots)

Do you recognize that “TWIN CAM 16” logo? Most people have seen it on the legendary AE86 loved by people around the world for its rev happy 4A-GE engine, light weight, spirited handling, and a willingness to let the tail end drift at will. But 1983 in Japan both the Celica and Corolla offered the same screaming 4A-GE, shared front suspension components, and delivered power through a nearly identical 4 link solid rear axle. Despite the Celica being offered with premium interior and technology packages only its little brother was sent to the world market in 1984 with the 4A-GE, cementing one legend but leaving its more refined brother forgotten to most.

Just thinking about the utter insanity of group B rally. The celica truly was the underdog in this class due to AWD becoming very prevalent during this time. But with its rowdy 4T-GTE engine laying down about 375HP straight to its rugged, simple, and proven RWD this little underdog won every Group B Africa rally from 1984- 1986. Being dubbed “The king of Africa”

Dipping my toes into gardening by starting a small herb garden. Noticed this caterpillar on my parsley a few days ago! Very cute but not sure if it will harm my plants.. Friend or foe?
