Like at what point can you really take what you pick. Coral is an animal and some fungus are so close that scientists argue they should count. I've read about some Lunar PC taking Some Hive Organisms. Jellyfish as a statement. Just bugs as a whole are also odd. Basically this can be broken down into 3 parts. Are there any arguments for fungus. Are there any arguments against animals that don't feel like animals such as Barnacles. Finally any ideas for actually interesting combos for chimera. My current Lunar is a Golden Zebra + Green Peafowl.

Edit: So it looks like most are saying if the build and player can make a good argument for a serious build a fungus can work but ask the dm first.

So, I'm thinking of starting guard. But the only model i currently have is pre-order Ciaphas Cain and want to have a rogue trader added in for fun (Have a custom 3d printed one) I also want to buy and use Ratlings as well as be low on vehicles.

So can I get any help with something for less competitive but still good 3k point armies? Assume I have no idea what anything is. Mostly because I've only played Death Guard and Nids. Plus surprisingly I've never played against guard so many models I'll be seeing for the first time.

Edit: the limit of my knowledge on guard and 11th edition guard is, Hammer of the Emperor seems better, vehicles seem nerft, and something about 10th e staples being hit hard.

So I just pre-ordered the Ciaphas Cain model and him being in legends is the only part I dislike here. I'm being honest I had actually planned to switch off death guard just for this man but after that and how all 3 game stores are in 20 miles of me, its just not worth it. My bother did the same. He went back to Knights when he was going to by guard and print heads and custom bits to fit with Cain.

Whats worse is Ciaphas Cain's rules are perfect for 11th edition. (even if he should be 65 not 70) His stats just make this a even bigger salt in wound moment.

I wanted to ask if anyone else was heart broken at Ciaphas Cain being legends right from the start. I know this isn't something to be this bothered about honestly but I think everyone knows what getting your hopes up just for them to fail feels like.
