YT audiobook about aliens causing rain to turn humans into goo

I listened to this audiobook around 2021 on YouTube. It's about some kind of city getting teleported or disconnected from the rest of the world and supernatural rain turning humans into goo. The plot follows some young adults having a party, and one of them attacks another person and gets tied up. Someone suggests throwing the assailant into the rain to become goo. Others say the police should handle it. The goo scattered around the city showed sentience and later combined into a singular creature. At the end, there were two protagonists, and one of them accidentally got some goo on her and told the other protagonist to survive while she herself had to accept becoming goo. It was narrated by a guy, and I have a feeling it might originally have been created on Reddit...

[TOMT][MOVIE][2000s] A dark-themed eerie family moves in the suburbs overnight creating a big contrast with their neighbours who are all sunshine & bright-themed

Plot details: When this new eerie family moves in, their house is black and all the other houses are painted with bright colors. The new family's ground is covered in sand and there's a dead tree, while everyone else's land is covered in grass and with living trees. There's one scene where a member of the eerie family leaves their house and looks around, and it's a dramatic scene with some music, the family member looks right and left, and the scene ends. After a while, some other 'normal' family decides to give them a visit and welcome them to the neighbourhood, I think with a pie as a gift or something. And so another family enters the eerie family's building, they talk, and the 'normal' people say something like "we didn't even notice you renovating the house or arriving in our neighbourhood," and (I think) a woman of the eerie family responds "our truck/cargo/van was in the street the whole day". I think there's also a scene where the "normal" family members get lost or stuck inside the walls of the eerie building.

I watched this movie in the first half of the 2000s, I think. From what I remember about the suburbs, I would guess the movie was filmed in the U.S.
