I have a problem and can’t decide about Mac fan control settings on MB pro late 2013 15”, running osx sequoia.
I am trying to find a balance between fans going mental and be quiet. Currently my MFC settings are as follows:
Both based on cpu core average
Left and right: min: 50, max:80
Please could you tell me yours? Or any advice? My main use of the MB is YT, word, 3utools and similar

I am sure there was many discussions about that matter. I think I tested all
Mac os from Monterey to sequoia and decided to stay with Monterey. Sequoia is literally cooking the cpu, even after thermal paste replacement and cleaning. I understand no security updates on Monterey anymore, so I decided to stay with Monterey, along with still
Updatable Firefox, Avira internet security, VPN
What you think? Is cpu cooking worth keeping sequoia due to security updates? Or keeping cool and keep the spec I mentioned before with Monterey?

Recently I did some cleaning in my electronic shed and found MacBook Pro late 2013 15 inch i7 4th gen, 16gb ram. I decided to revive it. Surprisingly it started. Battery was dead so I replaced for user but working. Change thermal paste for 13 W/m-K
Best I had and cleaned heat sinks. Then ran the Cinebench 23 test and it went to 99-100 C and cpu started to thermal throttling to 2.6 GHz (boost max is 3 GHz)
Now’s the question. Did anyone tried to drill a holes in bottom cover over the fans to improve cooling. I am tempted to do so, as I have a spare one, so not much damage there
Core max on intel power widget showing 99-100c, MFC (min 40C, max 80C settings) showing max 96 at cpu core average. Is that normal? Watching YouTube 1080p showing 50-65C

iPhone 12 Pro with Face ID or iPhone 12 Pro Max without Face ID, but with new battery. I have both but one need to go :)
