Chances of NQ corporate role after CPS training contract

I’ve got a training contract with the CPS (where I currently work) beginning September 2027 but would really like to work corporate (pref in London).

Most corporate firms will be opening TC applications soon but they start dates aren’t until 2029/2030, by which time I could have qualified through the CPS.

So my question is, is it worth delaying qualifying by two more years just to do my TC with a corporate firm (if I secure one)?

How easy would it be to secure a corporate role after doing a criminal/CPS TC?

My other concern is the lack of NQ roles in corporate, it’s highly likely I’ll be kept on with the CPS which again is a risk to delay qualifying to potentially not even get offered a job after the TC.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Port de Pollença boat hire

Looking for a boat to hire for 2 people for a few hours and have seen on here the furthest you can go is Cap Formentor.

Is it worthwhile doing? Any nice places to anchor and swim ashore for lunch?

We’d ideally prefer an all day trip with captain so we can have drinks but for two of us it would work out too expensive unless a group trip which we’d rather not.

TIA

2009 high school grades still considered at application?

Hi all, I applied for a training contract and was advised I’d been unsuccessful. When asking for feedback I was told it’s because my high school grades attained back in 2009 did not meet their minimum criteria, despite having received a first class honours degree.

I appreciate this is their policy and will not go back to them arguing over the dates of course. However I’m now panicking as to whether these old grades will go against me in all applications? I’m 34 and had just assumed they’d essentially be void due to the passage of time.

Heel grip recommendations (UK)

I have the Kate 100’s which fit fine (squish my toes as they’re supposed to lol!) however my heel slips out ever so slightly, particularly my right foot - I think I must have a more narrow heel and wider bottom or foot!

Any suggestions on subtle looking heel grips? (I’m in the UK for ref)

Authentic Kate 100s?

Bought from Vinted.

Everything here points to legit (I think) but concerned about the box font which looks really thick compared to another box I have?

The general mess of the tissue inside also raises concerns but I appreciate some people maybe just don’t keep things neat and tidy. No heels tips and the listing said only worn a couple of times which I’d say seems feasible from the soles?

SQE online?!

I’ve got my LLB in Scots Law and applying for some London based training contracts for 2028. I’m aware they require the SQE and some pay to put you through this but I was wondering if they allow you to do this online?

Ideally I’d like to stay in my current job in Scotland until the training contract begins rather than move to London and be skint doing the SQE.

Missed deadline for training contract applications - still reach out?

Hi all, I’ve missed the cut off for a lot of corporate training contracts for 2027/28 intake and don’t fancy delaying it even longer.

I’ve just found out I got a First along with 92 for my dissertation.

Is it worthwhile reaching out to companies with my CV and asking if any places come up could they keep me in mind? Or does it reflect badly as I missed the cut off?

Was so wrapped up in my diss that traineeships were the last thing on my mind.

Heel gap

Hi all, is the gap here simply too big to fix with a heel grip? I don’t live near a boutique to try sizes and buying pre-loved (champagne taste on lemonade pay). Usually a 39 in other pumps so got 39.5 here however now wondering whether I should sell and get 39 or maybe even 38.5?

Any advice welcome, TIA!

Cobbler specialising in luxury shoes

Looking for a cobbler who can resole Louboutins and put a protective layer that will look as close to the original as possible. Also need them to fix a little scuff on the patent heel if anyone can recommend?

Authenticity check

Considering buying off eBay which has their authenticity check.

I know the soles are quite worn so will have repainted but wondered if there is anything in particular standing out as fake or does all seem legit?

Securing role in England after COPFS traineeship?

I’ve secured a traineeship with COPFS in Scotland for September 2027 which is criminal and in the public sector. The pay and work life balance is decent but I’d like to move to London.

What’s the likelihood of getting a NQ role there after a COPFS traineeship? I’ve missed the cut off to apply for most 2027/2028 corporate traineeships here.

Is it worth delaying another couple of years for a corporate traineeship when I could have qualified through COPFS by then?

I’m 34 - time isn’t on my side so much 😂

My LLB is from Strathclyde (Scotland) but I’d rather do my Diploma at Robert Gordon as it’s cheaper and is online, meaning it can work around my full time job. Is this something employers care about or do they only consider where the degree itself was attained?
