Trash Pharma Companies to Work For Megathread - Whats Yours?

I have been working with/for Pharma companies over the last 12 years and overall don't have a great opinion (I am on the technology side, worked mostly with them as clients, not Indian).

  • Roche - started my career as an employee there, only company I actually enjoyed working for, loved the Swiss/German mentality of looking at things.
  • BMS - Client, absolute dogshit.
  • Pfizer - Client, horrendous, they are dropping employees every quarter, proximity to New York office is what really matters.
  • Haleon - Loved working with their engineering office but the company overall is less than ideal, small margins, not super talented folks.

Worked with a couple smaller clients too, generally these are much more enjoyable in terms of work but would probably not consider joining any of them.

Would love to hear which companies you'd not recommend joining.

Germans are rarely appreciated in big corporations

I have been in big companies for over 12 years and today I was reminded that Germans are my favourite people to work with:

  • Friendly but not intrusive
  • Straight forward
  • Laid back European way of looking at things
  • Go out of their way to set expectations ahead.

Really appreciate all of you.

Getting of Trazodone in 2 weeks

I've had a major cns event last year and started working myself back from that, got rid of xanax (0.375 a day) in June and now comes a 100 mg of trazodone. It does not let me sleep. It was originally prescribed to me but it did not help and one day I tried taking 50MG in the morning and 50MG after lunch. Worked like a charm. Time to get rid of it though. Any tips?

I am struggling npt to resign every single day

At Publicis and supposedly have a promotion around the corner, in the next month or so. Problem is that I struggle every single day. I hate working for smug american fucks and their Indian puppets. I am mentally checked out and now just make up stuff so I dont need to hear them speak.

Combating Slump

Currently working on going from Championship to Prem with Notts County with the latest DB refresh. Have a somewhat ass of a team but managed to get Kelleher and currently leading championship 22 games in with a nice margin (6 points). I am however getting in a slump no matter what I try: switch up strategy, bring in some up and coming guys on a loan etc. How would you combat this?

Would You Sell?

Have this card (this is just a screenshot I have grabbed off of ebay) that I pulled last year from a 70 usd box. These go around 1300 usd now and I think mine have a pretty good chance at going PSA10. Would you guys sell? Dont really need the money but I am also not convinced that this kid will be as big as everyone else thinks he'll be.

Fable 5 can one-shot emails from pdfs

I work in production tech and we still employ people to code html emails based on pdfs and design files. Not for long I suppose, fable 5 can do it and can do it very well too. Crazy times.

Compensation Data for Pharma IT

I am thinking about building a compensation data site (like levels.fyi) for Pharma IT. Would be happy to get your thoughts about whether this is something that sounds interesting or you’d be willing to contribute.

Thanks,

Kristof

Get Your Sperm Frozen Pls

I am a long term survivor of 23 years, had it when I was 15 and 38 now.

Due to an absolute rancid string of horrible doctors, I had stage 3c (up in the lungs), managed to get cleaned up with 7 rounds of BEP and 3 surgeries (RPLND, left ball, gland next to left ball).

Did not have any sperm frozen and trying to have a child came with some surprises. My sperm count and motility was OK but zero percent normal forms. Wife had a miscarriage the second month and we opted to do IVF shortly after. Got only 3 good embryos and the first one my wife is trying to put to bed as I am writing this.

The amount of times I was raging about not having sperm frozen during this period..I am very well aware that having a family one day is the last thing on your mind when this shit hits, especially if you are a teen. Please go rub one out and get it frozen, it will give you a peace of mind when the time comes. I wish I did.

Hope yall staying healthy and blessed.

MicroSaas that really scales usually comes from being employed in that niche

More of an observation: it looks like 2 things really work in this space:

  • Building shovels for other folks (e.g. what MarcLou etc does)
  • Nailing down a specific problem you saw during your work and scaling that.

Is there really another category?

Sperm Improvement Routine That Worked for Me

Have a 22 month old boy now and I just realized I haven't thought about getting there for some time now.

In 2023 we started trying for a kid and I already knew I am gonna be in for a bumpy ride: had stage 3c testicular cancer in 2003 (15 at the time), took me roughly 18 months to get out of that.

Initial sperm test was not rancid but not great at all: around 9 million TMSC, mainly low motility and low overall sperm count, 0 percent normal form. DNA fragmentation was 13 percent originally.

Got to work, initiated a ruthless routine:

  • Quit weed (was a big smoker back then)
  • Moderate alcohol intake (I still got drunk with friends but around once a month)
  • Gym 4 times a week + 1 day of hiking every week
  • Only cold baths, no hot water for my 1 ball at all.
  • Fertility Vitamin + Ashwaganda + Ginseng
  • Icing down there 3 times a day (not sure if that did anything, read about it back then)
  • Mostly clean food, although that was not the main focus

By August 2023 (roughly 5 months) I was at 66 million TMSC, 8 percent DNA fragmentation. Still 0 percent normal form though. Important to mention that month 2 my wife had a pregnancy which ended up being an MC hence we opted to do IVF right after, 1st transfer ended up being my son.

I fully appreciate that sometimes no matter how hard you try it just does not help, but it is good to lean in for a few months before you give up. Physically I never felt better than those months.

2024 I had a son born and it brought a lot of anxiety which ended me up on Trazodone and Xanax. 2025 October I had a perfect storm of health issues which left me with a cns dysregulation episode. Got well, have been tapering of xanax for some time now, finishing in 6 weeks. Planning to stop for a month after to stabilize then starting to put down the traz. On 100 mg now, will reduce 0.125 every 3 weeks. Any useful advice?
