Is silhouette cameo 5 worth it?

Hi all, I’ve been debating buying one for a little while. I’ve recently gotten really into scrapbooking. I’m still a beginner but would love one to emboss my own embellishments. Also, my brother is getting married so I could help make save the dates and invitations. Do y’all think it’s worth the cost?

Newbie questions

Hello :) I am new to scrapbooking and getting really into it. I have some dumb questions that I’m hoping you all can help with:

  1. What’s the best type of book? Right now I have the plastic sheet kind, but I feel like the plastic takes away from the look of the pages.

  2. What are the best tools/supplies to elevate my scrapbooking game? I think I’m going to buy a tape roller (is that what it’s called)? I’m also debating a cricut/silhouette/manual embossing machine. What do you think?

  3. Any general tips?

Thank you!!

EDIT: 4. Is it really important to get acid free/archival? Do most high-end brands make sure to their products are acid/lignin free?

  1. Do you recommend any subscription boxes to get new supplies?

Just a rant… I hate this growing trend of not giving folks +1s for weddings, especially when you’re asking your guests to travel. Asking your friends to buy a plane ticket, rent a car, stay in a hotel room, and come celebrate your love by themselves is cheap and inconsiderate. Especially when presumably they will get a +1 for their married partners when their friends that were single at their wedding get married. I get it, weddings are expensive and wedding culture is out of hand. But there are other places to cut costs; people are too focused on the perfect instagram wedding.
