Portuguese stare?

Oi! I’ve seen some TikToks talking about how Portuguese people like to stare and I saw some Reddit posts talking about staring and that theres creepy men that will stare at you and walk behind you just to look at your butt if you’re a woman. I’m not sure how normalize this stuff is there, but I hope it wasn’t true because I would love to go to Portugal one day because I’m part Portuguese.

People in America look and people watch a lot, is that what they mean by “staring” in Portugal? People in the TikToks act like it’s more full on staring for more than a few seconds.

Is it rude to not say anything when entering a room?

Ive seen some posts/people talking about this. Talking about how it’s rude to walk in a room and not say hi/good morning/what’s up even with roommates or people you live with. I was never raised this way and my parents and siblings never do it either. the only time I say something is if someone says it back or if I want to talk to someone.
