No Wi-Fi icon bug @ mabook air m5
Purchased it yesterday. Erased the mac as I was trying to setup fresh and it says "select a wi-fi network from the menu or attach a network cable to proceed".
Ofcourse no wi-fi icon appears on the top right as many others faced.
Steps taken:
- clicked on option while pressing and holding the power button that gave the option to proceed.
- used USB tethering using my smartphone using a type c cable and connecting to the mac. Doesn’t detect despite of selecting usb tethering in the phone.
- rebooted a few times.
- Erasing mac again, shutting down and turning on after few hours etc.
Only thing I've not done so far is to connect using type c to ethernet adapter and connecting to the router. Will do soon as it's(type c to ethernet adapter and an ethernet cable) on its way. But my doubt remains as usb tethering using my smartphone didn't work at all.
UPDATE:
Using the ethernet method I was able to activate the mac and then it landed me in the page to restore mac. Unfortunately despite of several attempts it failed to download the OS and and stopped midway every single time.
Finally took it to Apple service center that restored the OS using another mac using internet sharing in like 30 mins or so.
